With light steps, Lui worked his way down the path. Turning his head to the left, his gaze shifted along the foggy morning street. The houses were lain in a precise, neat pattern, perfect rows along the road. Lui liked the morning air, the crisp smell of grass, the subtle rumble of his neighbor's cars down the paved drive. By now he was most likely a few miles away from his house, or, old house.
A note had been set on the cold marble counters in the kitchen, explaining that he would be back.. At some point. Sometimes he even wondered whether he would go back or not. Lui ran a hand through his ruffled hair before slipping his hand back into his jean pockets. Reaching a hand up to adjust the backpack strap (that was digging into his shoulder) he sighed. Gosh, Lui, couldn't he have packed lighter? Resting in his pack was almost all astronomy stuff, along with his drawing notebooks and pens. Another slow car rolled by. It didn't seem like it was his neighbor, coming from the opposite direction. Taking a glance at the stickers lining the bumper of the car, he spied a simple Nasa logo. With a small smile, he realized it must've been another space fan, at least.
NASA had concluded that Kepler 3-45A (a exoplanet) could be inhabitable. They were currently trying to get a list of citizens straight for the most current project.. Shipping some (lucky) volunteers to a exoplanet in the same orbit system as 3-45A.. And he was on his way to sign up for it.
