gold stars.
they appear beneath my eyes at the random.
i've never exactly understood why.
suddenly, small, glittering figures appear without an invitation.
it's not painful.
actually, their presence is quite pleasant.
rarely will it physically affect me.
however, when they do show, i become a mess.
a giggly, blushing, bubbly mess.
when they show, my head is in the clouds, and life is like a dream come true.
for a while, i haven't seen them
sitting, waiting, a clock is ticking, and i'm anticipating.
the class continues to fill.
roughly forty teens dot the classroom.
then, i see her.
she walks in.
clear, warm eyes.
they meet mine. a bright, kind smile greets me.
naturally stunning.
one by one, i feel them.
the stars.
fading in, quicker and quicker.
she approaches me, and rests her books near mine.
i know now.
i understand now.
love.
i'm head over heels in love.
i glance back at her.
blurred, but soon enough, crystal clear.
gold stars
