The beeping. The echo. It all sounded very familiar. Like I've heard it before, in some sort of dream, but it was a reality. I couldn't tell if the echo was in my head, or if it was real. Then, it hit me like a bullet. Faster than ever.
The past. The echo was reminding me of the past.
Back when everything was always peaceful, the town was filled with hundreds, or even more than thousands of people roamed free, living normal lives. The pretty, and preppy rich assholes shopped their hearts out, buying whatever they wanted. They bought their happiness by filling their heartless souls with everything that looked appealing to the human eye.
But not me and my people.
We were the lesser fortunate.
Back to the beeping. That's what made the town change. It's what took hundreds of lives, and that's what made most of the town abandoned, but we stayed. Everyone else had abandoned it, and we had claimed it. Heads rolled as quickly as they came.
Back to reality.
I carefully walked on the jagged sidewalks of this pretty much-abandoned neighborhood/town. My footsteps echoed slightly, as if no one else there, but there was. Only one other person was with me. Kyda, my partner in 'crime' you could say. This part of town was usually always empty. There were three parts of town. Shops? Abandoned. There were only a few things left. A diner, a gas station, and a small little mini market. The bigger, richer houses? Left for dead for the most part, very few people decided to stay especially considering the... Incident. And the other side? That's where all the hoodrats and junkies are, those sort of "punks", further known as my friends. If bigger authority stepped into this part of town, they were on OUR turf, OUR places, OUR land. We rightfully took it from them when they all left, and there was no stopping us from what we'd do next.
I looked around at the empty buildings and shops and I thought about the past a bit. Back when this town was packed, protected, guarded, beautiful, normal people were everywhere living everyday lives like most people. 'Course all that's changed now. Now the town is just a ghost town, empty, quiet, almost too quiet, there's always some sort of demons or some psychopaths roaming around somewhere.
I took a breath in and smelled the air.
Ah, home sweet home.
This place had always been homely to me, hell it's been a home to me since I found it. People didn't really treat me like trash, they treated me as if I was an acquaintance, a person they've known most of their life. A friend. At least the hoodrats didn't. Other people would start rumors and a lot of shit. Whoever crossed me, well let's just say blood spilled from heads. That's how I was known as one of the worst thing possible in this town. That was a nice feeling. I looked at Kyda for a second, before stopping in my tracks, and I looked around, just to stay aware of what I was doing.
For the most part, here, you had to be aware of your surroundings. You had to always watch what you were going to do or say if you were considered normal, or you would probably get shot. I wasn't afraid of being shot, I'd probably be the one pulling the trigger on your fucking head. If anyone crossed me, well... Y'know.
I've probably explained too much at this point. Well hi. I'm Calil Yreva Yeldah, and I guess I'm gonna tell this story for the most part.
{A/N: Hello! I'm the author of this story, and this is just a lil' thing I'm writing for me and my girlfriend (@crystelakiwi) 's ocs! Kyda belongs to her, and Calil belongs to me cx I hope you enjoy!
