A moment of silence was given, before Lucinda screamed highly in fear and despair at only a few hours old.

The nurse and doctor whipped their heads around to see her, screaming and crying in her dead mother's arms. The nurse rushed to her, picking her up. Lucinda refused to let go, and gripped onto her mother's hospital gown, screaming as she latched onto it with her tiny pale hands. The nurse finally pried them off, wrapping her in her blanket as her screams made her ears ring. The doctor frowned, shaking his head. "We must call the adoption agency... they'll give her a home..." he said. The nurse gasped. "You can't! They'll abuse her! She'll never know love in there!" She cried. The doctor frowned. "Well what other choice do we have?! There is no other relative for her to go to!" He argued. As they grew more frantic, the lights suddenly flickered and buzzed, and the door locked from the outside. They looked around, not acknowledging Lucinda's screams and cries. As the lights went out, the glass broke, and the sound of loud, crunching footsteps was heard behind them, the shadow of a tall figure with long tendrils cast on the wall in front of them.

The nurse turned swiftly, seeing the creature as her eyes widened in horror. Its long black tendrils snaked around it, and it dawned a black suit with a red tie. Its limbs were long and slender, with a bony appearence. It had no face. Only a blank white canvas on its bald head. (You can already guess it's Slenderman right?) It reached for her, grabbing her by her throat as it picked her up and strangled her. She struggled to scream, losing her grip on Lucinda. Lucinda still screamed and cried, fearing for impact with the cold tile floor. The creature took her in one arm, and as the doctor frantically pulled at the door, it shot out a tendril, driving it through his back and ripping his heart out through his ribs. The doctor died instantly, and the creature slowly pulled his heart through his back. It looked down at Lucinda, seeing her still screaming and crying loudly. It quickly laid her against its shoulder, patting her back softly. She instantly calmed, gripping its suit jacket softly. It held her in one arm, holding the heart in its hand as it glowed and became a silver rattle, the red of it turning into a ruby heart with a small gold crown on it. A black proxy symbol appeared within the center of the heart, and it began to beat as if it were still a human one. The creature handed it to Lucinda. She took it, watching it beat as she shook it curiously, admiring the rattle of it. She looked at the creature, and it could see that her eyes were black with red proxy symbols. It nodded. "I see very well why the messenger called for me to take you..." it said with a male British accent. "You are truly in danger of being taken by that scoundrel..." He finished. Lucinda frowned, and pointed to her mother's body sadly. He looked at it, and nodded. "I know... he took her... I'm sorry my child... if I could bring her back I would do so immediately..." he sighed. "But it is that of death which I cannot reverse..." he said sadly. Lucinda paused, but her lip trembled, and she gripped his jacket, holding back tears. He patted her back. "Come now my dear... we must bring you to your new home... a home where you'll be safe and sound... where that bastard will never find you..." He said with a hint of anger. Lucinda laid in his arms silently, putting her rattle in her mouth and making small noises. He stepped out of the broken window from whence he came, walking out into the dark night as the breeze blew Lucinda's fluffy black hair softly.

He arrived after a few minutes at an old house near the woods, its roof shingles loose and messy, and its paint chipping from all sides. Though it was a mess, it was a fairly large home, and it wasn't too far from the school. Slender looked about, making sure no one had seen him. The small block of houses surrounding them were all dark and silent. He paused, and then looked down at Lucinda, who was still toying with her rattle and making small noises. He approached the house, walking in quite casually through a broken screen door. He walked to a small room, opening the door to reveal an empty space with only a window and a closet door. He scoffed in disapproval, and snapped his fingers, the room swirling with red and black lights as it changed into a small nursery with dark blue walls and a black crib, a mobile with small glass blackbirds and red glass circus tents playing a quiet tune. He laid Lucinda down upon the soft black sheeting, watching as she looked about with her rattle in hand. He touched her nose gently. "Now you be good, little Lulu. But not too good. You're your father's daughter, make the best of that and make him proud." He joked. She yawned, and put her rattle in her mouth, falling asleep as she knawed at the ruby heart with her toothless gums wearily.

Once she fell asleep, Slender swiftly moved to the room across the hall, entering silently as he looked at the sleeping couple. He glided over to them, pausing to examine them. He scoffed. "Pathetic... a man who keeps no proffessional appearence and a woman who submits like a scared mutt..." And with that, he touched their heads firmly, placing created memories into their minds of being Lucinda's real parents. Once his task was complete, he left the home, retreating to the dark woods as he watched the home silently. "I'll always be watching Lucinda... they won't be the only ones guarding you..." he said to himself, and disappeared into the dark trees, seeming to have never been present to start with.
