Sarah stood alone in the old, damaged building. The one where it had all gone down. Where it had all gone wrong. Alex's death. Tim's breaking point. The discovery that lead to the truth. And then they were gone. All of them. And now it was only her. Her and her little angel. She rested her hand on her baby bump softly, looking down at it, smiling sadly. "You're awfully quiet sweetie..." She said softly. There was a small kick from within. She chuckled. "Yes, I know dear, you want out.. It's almost time, don't you wo-" She was cut off as she yelped in pain. She felt something drip down her legs, and looked down to see a puddle forming at her feet. Her eyes widened in fear. "No no, Lucinda not here!" She shook. The fluid kept leaking. She began to cry. "Lucy no! This isn't the right time! You can't come out yet!" She cried. She felt weak. There was no one to help her get to the hospital. She tried to walk, but she fell on her side. She began to weep heavily. "Lucinda why?! Why now, of all times!" She wept heavily. As she cried, she suddenly heard running footsteps. A man ran to her. "Miss! Miss are you-" He cut himself off in shock, seeing the fluid surrounding her. He picked her up carefully, carrying her downstairs and to a car, carefully laying her in the backseat. "I'll get you to a hospital miss, just breathe slowly..." He said calmly. Sarah took in a deep breath, breathing as calmly as possible. The man got in the driver's seat, revving up his car engine before speeding off down the road and to the local hospital.
Once they arrived, Sarah was taken by two nurses to the delivery room. She was laid on a clean bed, and was dressed into a hospital gown. She felt her daughter kick from within. She put her hand on her stomach. "They'll get you out soon sweetie... Just be patient for mama..." She said weakly. She suddenly felt drained of her energy. A dark apparition appeared in the corner of the room. The Operator's messenger. He had come to take her life. She looked at him. "P..please... Let me stay... At least long enough for her to be born... To see my face just once..." She pleaded weakly. The messenger's face softened, and he nodded. She breathed a tired sigh of relief. Her daughter kicked again. She winced. A doctor came rushing in, setting up his equipment before dressing in his scrubs and putting on a pair of latex gloves. He spoke to Sarah calmly. "You're weak, Sarah... Do you think you can gather enough strength to push her out?" He asked. Sarah paused, but nodded. The doctor smiled softly. "Alrighty then... let's get started, shall we?" He said, and got into position, prepared to help deliver the baby.
A few hours later, the sound of an infant's crying could be heard, and a tired, weakened Sarah laid in wait for a look at her daughter.
Lucinda Arian Sutton.
The nurse took the baby to the small bed in the corner, laying her down as she cleaned and dried her, cutting her cord carefully and swaddling her in the little blue blanket, finally giving her a pacifier to keep her content. Lucinda sucked on it silently, her eyes closed and her breathing quiet and calm. The nurse smiled, carrying her over to Sarah. Sarah reached her arms out impatiently, desperate for the feeling of her child in her arms. The nurse carefully handed her to her, still smiling. Sarah looked down at her baby in awe. The child had pale, soft skin, with a pale pink to her cheeks. Her lashes were long and black, and her hair was as black as the Raven's feathers. She opened her eyes slowly, looking at her mother in wonder. She had her father's bright, shining blue eyes, which twinkled in the lights of the delivery room. Sarah smiled weakly. "You're so beautiful..." she said wearily. Lucinda looked at her still, and spit her pacifier out, her mouth open as her little pink tongue stuck out slightly. Sarah smiled more, touching her nose lightly. Lucinda grabbed her finger, putting it in her mouth and sucking contentedly. Sarah had been so caught up in her daughter's beauty, she hadn't noticed the messenger float to her side. She looked up at him, tears filling her eyes. "Please... keep my baby safe... don't let him get her, please!" She begged. The messenger paused, but pointed to Lucinda's back. Sarah looked at it, and her face fell in despair. Lucinda had the mark; the circle with an X through it. Lucinda still sucked on Sarah's finger; and upon seeing the fearsome messenger, began whimpering in fear. The messenger looked at her, touching her cheek softly. Lucinda shuddered, but grabbed his finger softly, looking up at him. He softened instantly, and looked at Sarah, nodding to her. He held his hand up to the light, and his palm glowed with a symbol. He was calling upon Slender to take Lucinda to a safe home, away from the Operator's reach. Sarah watched him, holding Lucinda close. Lucinda looked at the messenger's symbol in wonder, the red light reflecting in her eyes. As the glowing ceased, the messenger touched Sarah's forehead, his eyes glowing and red. Sarah instantly felt her life draining away, and she kissed Lucinda's cheek softly. Lucinda could sense her mother dying, and she looked at her with wide eyes, tears falling as she whined. Sarah began to swirl in a red light, her hair blowing in a sudden strong wind. She smiled down at her daughter with tear-filled eyes. "Remember who you are my little angel... you are the daughter of a man with both power and courage... you must find your father one day... his name is Tim Sutton... you will discover him as Ma-" the last word she spoke blurred out in the whirl of wind and thunder. Lucinda screamed out for her mother, only to find herself back in the delivery room, her mother's cold, dead body still holding her against her now motionless heart.
