The Real Me + You

Part 7 (The Surface)

Papyrus nodded with a serious face before grinning like a child again,

"I can't contain my excitement,"

"I know buddy, it's pretty cool and exciting. Ready to go?"

Papyrus nodded frantically, we made our way outside, I asked where Sans was and Papyrus said he went to Grillbys, I blushed remembering what happened earlier but shook it off. I took Pap's hands and transported us to the Surface.

I opened my eyes hesitantly when the familiar cool breeze crossed my face and tousled my ponytail, we were on the border of my hometown. Everything still looked the same, just the way I remembered it, I looked up at Papyrus, his eyes were shining, glistening with tears.

"It's so beautiful out here, it's a pity the Humans don't want us here,"

I smiled sadly,

"I should bring you and Sans one day when its night time, the stars on the Surface are much more beautiful,"

I let Papyrus look around for a bit before we continued on, papyrus was taking on his role as an average Human pretty well although I could see he wanted to just burst free and go mad but he was taking his job very seriously.

We had questioned 8 Humans and Papyrus noticed that the one was lying about where he was, further investigation revealed he had indeed been on the Mountain and he tried to light a cigarette when he was looking down the hole and dropped the matchbox by accident. So thanks to Papyrus we solved and closed the case, as we walked on I noticed my old and favorite shop. All the money I carried now was normal Human money so I walked right in, dragging Papyrus behind me,

"Hey there can I have one (favorite pizza) pizza please to eat here and one for takeaway"

"Sure thing doll,"

I sat Papyrus down and told him about the good times I had here on the surface, we had gotten through ¾'s of the pizza when the shop bell rang and in walked...him... the cause of my Nightmares, Fear itself, my living and breathing anxiety... My Master...

My body froze in fear and I looked back at Papyrus with wild eyes, he noticed my fear, he looked at the counter then back at me,

"What's wrong?"

He whispered but I couldn't reply, of all the times in my life that had been horrible, he has to show up? Now? My body was frozen in pure fear, my heart beat wildly, I could no longer hear Papyrus's voice, all I could hear was his laughter, that damned laughter. I was bought back to present time when all of a sudden Papyrus was kissing me,

I snapped quickly into present time and pushed him away slightly indicating that I was aware of what he was doing without making it obvious to the customers that I pushed him away, he watched me with concern, HE left and I breathed out,

"I know I was out of line but I couldn't think of anything else that would shock you enough without concerning everyone else around,"

I nodded,

"Thank you,"

I quickly paid for our food before we left, Papyrus carried our takeaway and we walked in silence. I was still processing the fact that I was in the exact same room as him... I was very deep in thought when Papyrus pulled on my sleeve, I looked to where he was pointing and found a sweet shop and toy shop, I looked up at him and grinned and we both walked in.

Papyrus took bags and bags of sweets and toys and I stood aside and watched with humor, my phone rang and I answered,

"Hello?"

"Hey its Sans,"

I grinned,

"Hey Sans, just hold on, let me give your brother some money,"

I explained to Papyrus that Sans had called, I gave the shop keeper $400 telling him that was all Papyrus could spend, he took the money happily, I walked out the shop and stood by the alleyway,

"So whats up?"

"How's my Brother doing?"

I smiled,

"Extremely well, we solved the case pretty quickly, if it wasn't for him I would never have noticed the one guy's lie, right now I'm allowing him to treat himself to candy and toys,"

"Wow really? Thank you y/n, this must mean the world to him,"

I shrugged,

"It's not a problem, hey listen we'll be back soon, check you now Bonehead,"

"See ya soon Fleshie,"

I grinned before shutting the phone and when I turned around my heart dropped along with the rest of my organs,

"Hello there kitten,"
