gemini
i guess the funny thing about her was the way she moved like a cloud in a smoke filled sky. always twisting and turning, changing her mind wherever she flew. left a disaster in her wake (keep in mind she's a thundercloud). i could never tell the difference between the smoky pillars that toxic air wafted off and filled lungs with poison water, or her storm passing through.
she would pull you in with sweet words and fiery wit, but leave you there hanging dry. burnt at your throat and wore down your already tired eyes.
that was gemini.
i met her in the summer and couldn't believe how junoesque her aura seemed.
she laughed like a bell chime and spit words back at me like a volcano. she whispered soft words like lilac sheets and screamed like hell fire. how lovely all of the juxtaposition was.
"i hate your guts, but goddamn, you are the most beautiful person i have ever met in my whole miserable life," she would tell me, flicking a cigarette in between her teeth, straight but turning yellow because she never took care of herself like she would others.
and i would laugh because i know she can't hate. thunderstorms only get angry, but never kill.
we were in a war with each other, cutting each other's throats and stabbing our hearts with the earrings i got her on christmas eve.
it was a fucking disaster but i loved all of it.
by the end of it i had lost every limb named in a fourth grade science book, and i adored every moment i bled.
gemini left, and i still think about her everyday.
