"Can you tell me what happened, Tyler? Can you remember what happened?"

The handcuffs restraining my wrists are beginning to hurt by now, the sharp, cold metal digging into my skin as if it were slicing through soft butter, adding to my mixture of feelings and emotions all whirling around and around in my head, back and forth, back and forth.

"No ma'am, I don't."

The lady sat before me on the other side of the desk is quite tall, with platinum blonde hair and green blue eyes, she's quite petite as well, her fragile looking body sat upright and as straight as she could muster watching me with what looked like a look of pity, and somewhat sorrow.

"You don't remember anything at all, Tyler?"

I shook my head no again, never once taking my eyes from the cuffs, holding my scar riddled arms in position, forcing me to watch over past mistakes whilst dealing with resent ones.

"Did- did I h-hurt someone?"

I didn't look up, but I heard her sigh, an almost tired sigh, something that sounded as if she were tired of trying to help me, or tired of me in general. She stood from her chair though, and moved around to the front of her desk, her heels clicking against the white floor, her pencil skirt and polished shoes coming into my view as she sat against the front board of the wooden work-stand.

"Yes, Tyler, you did hurt someone, very badly. We just need to know what you can remember. Can you tell me what you remember?"

I shook my head no again, I wasn't lying, I couldn't remember much at all, except maybe one thing.

"Rain... I can remember the rain, it was cold, and hard... the rain."

"Thank you, Tyler. You'll be coming back to see me again in a few days okay?"

I nodded.

"I'll see you soon. You guys can take him now, just, be gentle."

The guards that were stood behind me moved forwards, one used a key to unlock my cuffs, only to stand me up, turn me around and re-attach them behind my back, straining my sore shoulders with the attempt at tightening them as best they could.

"Try and think, Tyler. You need to try and remember."

They officers pushed my down a few halls, damp with artificial light and course with the smell of forgotten. Before this, I wouldn't have thought that forgotten would have a smell, but I would have been very wrong. This place, this terrible place was riddled with it, the smell of stagnant forgotten.

I barely took any notice of anything but the light and the smell as thoughts of what might have happened plagued my mind. Was I a bad person? Had I really hurt someone so bad? Where was that person now? Were they dead? Am I a murderer? Would anybody even care?

There were grunts and words passed through the confinement cages that held other people I had been place in the same category as, but these people didn't look like me, nor did they look forgotten... I sure as hell wouldn't be able to forget them. These men were terrifying, large built, and smelt of sadness and torture, as if they had seen a thousand lives leave and caused every single one, and maybe they had... was I like these men? Was I here because I was like these men?

"Hey pretty boy."

How cliché.

"Look fellas, fresh meat."

Predictable.

There putrid words don't faze me as much as the glint in their eyes that showed no remorse. They don't care, they know they belong here, and they're loving every second of it, I can smell it.
