How to save a life

I landed in front of a blockade.

"Who's in charge?!"

A man walked over to me.

"My name is Special Agent Walker. I'm in charge."

"The officer told me you needed help out."

"Yes ma'am. We have hostages on the observation desk. He blew a hole through the protective fencing and I'm sorry to report that e lost someone.

"do you have a view on the hostages?"

"No ma'am but we can send a small camera to look at them."

"Get on that."

The Agent Walker motioned to another agent then turned to me and asked," what now?"

"We wait till the birds in the air. Until then I want all news choppers and the people surrounding the blockade."

"That's going to take some time."

"No one is crazy enough to take hostages on top of the empire state building without some sort of air support. I want them to land all helicopters and get all the people back at least three blocks. Call in local PD if you have to. Agent Walker..."

"special agent..."

"Special Agent Walker that person up there has some contingency plan. Please don't be stupid and let innocent people leave because you didn't move a few people."

The agent that went to get the Camera plane came back.

"Sir we have a plane."

"You need to let him know that before you meet what ever demands he requested you need to see the hostages alive. That you will be sending this thing up there."

"He hasn't made any demands."

I shrunk down to fit in the plane then flew up to where Agent Walker could see me.

"make the call then send me up."

"Yes ma'am."

They sent me up in the copter. When I got high enough I snuck off and one by one I shrunk the hostages down. The captor didn't realize till I went for the hostages closer to him.

"I know your there.... Show yourself."

I shrunk down the hostages then grew to my normal form.

"You different than the others."

"yes sir I am."

he looked around to see the floor was empty.

"very good. you are the first being I have ever encountered to beat me in my own game."

"who are you?"

"I go by many names on many different worlds..."

"and what about on earth... what are you called here?"

"My name is Alex"

"Alex?"

HE laughed," yes, I was born in a hospital three blocks from here actually."

"Alex why are you doing this?"

"Oh..." he snapped his fingers and the police and crowd disappeared, "I'm sorry for the deception but I needed to talk to you alone."

I turned and looked at the hostages to see they were gone too.

"What makes you think I'd listen to you? you killed a man!"

"I haven't killed anyone here. I haven't in a long time."

"I don't understand."

"The last time I was here... Well you were just a child then."

"you say you want to talk to me... do you even know who I am?"

he turned to mean and said, "I very much know who you are, Chloe Rogers-Stark..."

I was shocked.

"Chloe I know you were created in a lab but even then and your appearance now... Chloe you were a child thrown into a war. You were meant to be a symbol for peace much like your father..."

"Get to the point..."

"I need your help to bring peace back to my home."

"peace... look around you... not a single siren."

"I know... I need your help to save my home..."

"Where are you from?"

He laughed again, "You mean when..."

I took a few steps back and started to fly away when I noticed he was following me.

"Chloe please!"

I stopped and turned to him.

"I cant help you... I'm getting married soon and I wont risk it."

"I understand..."

"Come on... Tell me about what is happening. Maybe I can help you devise a plan to stop whatever is happening."

We flew back to Avengers tower to talk.
