"Babe..." Bryce shutters as I tease my hand at the top of his pants. "We're at school."
"So? It's not like we'd be having actual sex."
"Later. We have to go inside otherwise I'm gonna be late."
"Okay." I pout. We simultaneously get out of his new black truck. "I'll see you after school?"
"Definitely." He pecks me on the cheek and joins his group of popular friends.
He's pretty much the only reason I'm popular. My friends aren't for the most part, besides Nolan. I don't really care though, they're all good friends.
First, there's Nolan Smith, of course. He's the quarterback on the freshman varsity football team. He's dating this girl named Elise, she's kind of annoying but nice. She had a thing with my ex, Justin, he had sex with her and then broke up with her. Justin's such a pig. Anyway, Nolan is probably my second closest friend since we hang with the same people a majority of the time. Nolan is obviously good at sports, and he's relatively smart.
Second, there's Mia Kramer. My best friend, probably. She's really quiet at first, but then once you get to know her, you can't shut her up. She's also hella smart. She gets A's in every class, and almost every assignment and test. Plus, her brother is the golden boy of the school. He's smart like her, but he's popular. Mia's like a goody-goody. She's never smoked, never sneaked out, never drank, or even had sex.
I've only had sex, vaped and sneaked out. I'll do a lot, but not drinking. I think my dad has done enough of that for the both of us. My extended family worries since I'm not exactly a 'Mia.'
Then, there's Bentley Hudson. He's super dorky. I'm pretty sure he's gay, but that's not relevant. He's a good friend, he'll always be there for you when you need it the most. I honestly don't know what I would've done without him when I was going through my break up with Justin. His parents are super rich, too. Like, his mom is an accountant and his dad is neurosurgeon. His sister is like an engineer or some shit, so everyone thinks he's destined for success.
Last, but not least, Casey Ryder. He's transgender. Which is good for him, but I keep accidentally calling him a her. I feel so bad when I do that. I don't mean to, he acts like it's okay but I can tell that sometimes it hurts him badly. His mom is a district attorney and his dad is a bank teller. Casey's told me some things and his dad just can't wrap his head around the thought of having a transgender child. He's said that his mom and twin sister, Caroline, they understand and help him.

I walk the halls with my heavy ass back pack and head to math.
I enter the room and Ms. Smith is writing something on the whiteboard and my desk partner is already sitting.
Kyle is my desk partner. He's a junior taking Algebra which is kinda sad. He's not the sharpest tool in the box, but he's really funny. He copies my assignments and tests all the time, which I wouldn't recommend since I'm not the best at Algebra.
I don't have any other friends in my class, besides Kyle. Mia is like two grades ahead so she's taking Algebra 2. Nolan is also smart, but not nearly as, so he's taking geometry along with Bentley. Casey's in Algebra too, but in third period.
I wait for the bell to ring, and just observe my class. The girl in front of me is so emo. I see her pick at the scabs that cross her forearm. My body cringes and I look away.
The girl's desk partner is a really annoying guy. Not to be rude or anything. He's just one of those kids who's the teachers favorite because he answers every question, and he has teacher humor. That's the worst kind.
I look over to some sophomore doing push-ups in the back of the room.
What the hell?
"Okay. Everyone settle down." Ms. Smith says and waits for the class to settle by tapping her foot and pursing her lips. "I want you all to start on one through twenty-two on pages forty-two and forty-three."
Math, English, Art and Science pass by and it's lunch.
"Hey." Cassidy James calls to me.
"Hey." I reply with zero emotion.
"Where are you going for lunch?"
"I don't know. My friends and I are probably just gonna get some burgers." I go to my locker and spin the lock.
"Cool. Well, Elise, Avery, Kenzie and I are going to eat our lunch and drive around, wanna come?"
"With what car?" I open my locker and throw my back pack in and slam it shut.
"Kenzie's boyfriend just got a car."
"Oh, well I already told my friends I'd go with them, so another time?" I lie.
"Sure, yeah. You're welcome to have lunch with us anytime you want. For the most part." She giggles.
"Thanks. I'll see you later." I smile and walk to Nolan's locker where I can see Bentley and Casey already with him.
