It hurts like hell, living like this.
If someone had told Korn he would be reduced to this he would have laughed in their face.
Knock had chosen Plern Pleng.
Knock chooses his girlfriend.
Knock does not choose Korn. And now Korn feels like he's being stretched way too thin and hurting all over.
Fai said they had soccer practice after class and Korn just wanted to skip it. He'd already walked out on Knock, now he just wanted to keep walking and never look back. Put this all behind him; Plern Pleng and her lies, telling Knock he told her about their first time in Amphawa and Knock and his indecisions. It was too much.
Besides, how did Plern Pleng find out about their first time anyways? Yihwa had figured it out on her own though, and it didn't take a genius to see Plern Pleng was a really smart girl. They had probably been leaving clues along the way without realizing it, clues that really smart people could piece together and draw their own conclusions.
But it didn't matter at all right now, because if he told Knock about it, then Plern Pleng would just bat her eyelashes, call him a liar and Knock would believe her without hesitation. Probably lay into him for being the one telling lies on his perfect girlfriend as soon as her name came out of his mouth. And this was what broke Korn down to the very depth of his soul, that after everything, Knock didn't trust him. That almost two months of dating Plern Pleng trumped a lifetime of friendship.
That whatever it was Plern Pleng had over him, he could never be everything that Knock wanted or needed.
A ball flew by his head and hit the fence beside him and Korn startled, looking at the ball bouncing away before glancing out at the field.
"Oi, Knock, you could have cracked Korn's skull!" Fai screamed over shoulder at Knock while she ran over to Korn.
Korn looked over at Knock, who had turned away, heaving a deep sigh with his hands on his hips.
"Korn, are you hurt?" Fai asked softly, looking him over with a critical eye.
Korn stood, smiling at her as best he could. "I'm ok."
No, he wasn't, but nobody else needed to know that.
Fai took a deep breath and Ai' Chad and P' Ten came closer, looking him over also. P' Ten had the ball under his feet.
"Hey, Fai? Knock kicked the ball, you know he'd never hurt his best friend," Ai' Chad said while pulling on her shirt sleeve.
Right now, Korn wouldn't agree with that statement, but it seemed to placate Fai some, because she nodded with a small smile before stealing the ball and kicking it back out on to the field. They then left him alone, focusing back on the game and Korn sat heavily on the bench, doing his utmost best to not look at Knock.

"We can be friends like before."
Korn left the bathroom feeling more incensed than normal. How dare Knock! How dare he? Did he expect Korn to just go back to being the side chick in this messed up parody of a love triangle? He wanted them to be sleeping together while he had his precious girlfriend? Korn grabbed his bag and stormed off the soccer field, intending to walk home and just curl up in bed for the rest of his miserable life.
He didn't care what crisis of conscience Knock was going through right now, he wanted no part of it. Watching him standing there and making those sad eyes like he was the one getting hurt the most? After everything? Korn had made up his mind, Knock won't be pulling him by his leash anymore. No way in...
