I hastily hurried into Biology class before the bell rang. My heavy breathing slowed down when I realized I wasn't late. Thank goodness, I can't afford anymore tardies. I had a bad habit of sleeping in, usually ignoring my alarm clock.

Pulling out my supplies for the class I looked to the right of me to see my Biology partner, Cameron Dallas.

I guess you could say Cameron was the biggest nerd in our grade. He wears sweaters or button ups everyday, khakis, loafers and the same pair of think rimmed glasses. He didn't have any friends, he sat alone at lunch most of the days and he was bullied. I felt bad for him. I know underneath his nerdy appearance, was a kind guy who was just lonely.

I've never told any of my friends this, but I've had a crush on him since the start of the school year. How could I not? He was absolutely adorable, smart and even though he was bullied everyday, he didn't steep to their level and say rude things back. And I admired him for that.

Pulling me out of thoughts about the lovely guy sitting next to me, my teacher started talking about random gibberish that I didn't understand, until he said something that caught my attention.

"Okay class, you will have one week to come up with a research topic and present it to the class with the person sitting next to you. Go ahead and start brainstorming." Our teacher said, clapping his hands and taking a seat behind his desk.

Voices and sounds of protest filled the classroom as everyone started working. Looking over to Cameron, I caught him looking at me. As soon as my eyes gazed into his, a blush crept its way onto this cheeks, embarrassment clearly shown on his face.

"So Cameron, what topic do you want to do?" I asked in the most casual way, hoping to ease his nerves.

"Oh uhh...Y/N you don't have to w-work on the p-project with me. I can do it all and give you the s-same credit." He nervously stuttered, fixing the collar of his shirt.

Did he really think I was going to let him work on this all by himself? I wasn't like everyone else. I wasn't going to use him.

"Cameron, whether you like it or not, I'm going to help you with the project." I slightly laughed.

"Well o-okay then Y/N. But what will e-everyone think. You know...because you're Y/N and I'm a loser." Cameron said sadly, hopelessness in his voice, looking down into his lap.

"Cam, I could care less what other people think of me. Let's just start brainstorming yeah?" I told him, as I rubbed my hand soothingly on his arm. Surprisingly feeling some muscle underneath the plaid shirt he wore today.

"O-okay Y/N." He slightly smiled at me.

The rest of the day dragged on slowly, but it's finally time to go home.

I approached my locker first to put some textbooks away. A voice from behind startled me, causing me to jump in the air.

Quickly turning around, I was surprised when I came face to face with Cameron.

"Gosh Cameron, don't scare me like that." I slightly laughed, still trying to get my breathing in order.

"S-sorry Y/N, I was just w-wondering if you wanted to come to my place after school. But not like that! I m-meant to work on the p-project you know. I mean if you still w-want to..." I found his stuttering cute. His cheeks were blazing with heat and he couldn't keep my gaze.

"Sure Cam, I'd love to." I smiled at him, closing my locker.

"Y-you called me Cam." Wonder clear in his voice, looking at me like I was some sort of angel or something.

"Is that alright with you?" I asked him. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

"Y-yes Y/N, t-that's alright with me." Cameron cutely smiled at me.

I could see his nervousness wash away, and I was glad. I wanted to become his best friend, and who knows, maybe more.

A smile formed onto my lips at the thought of that. Being Cameron's girlfriend. No one would bully him with me around. I would protect and comfort him.

"Are you ready to go Y/N?" Cameron asked pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? Oh yeah, let's go!" I smiled at him, grabbing onto this hand and walking towards the exit.

This little gesture didn't go unnoticed by Cameron. I could see his cheeks become flushed and a grin on his handsome face.
