Rick's POV

I was sitting in the living room, by myself for once, enjoying the silence thinking of random things. You don't time often to do that. I was felt like I was about to fall asleep when it sounded like a earthquake was happening as every single resident of the Dumping Ground ran down the stairs into the living room to look out the window jumping on each other to get a better look at whatever they are looking at.

"What are you doing?" I asked getting up off the sofa, really confused but curious as well.

"New kid, come on" Johnny said not even turning around craning to get a better look.

"Cool, boy or girl?" I asked walking over to the window and looking out without moving anyone out the way because I'm taller than everyone here.

"I can't see!" Harry said poking me on the leg to get my attention.

"Come on" I said picking him up and putting him on my shoulders so he can get a look in.

"Come on, just get out the car" Carmen exclaimed getting closer to the window if it's even possible.

After Carmen said that the car door opened and a woman got out from the front and made her way to the back of the car. A few moments after a girl got out and stopped and looked up at the building. But none of us could see he face properly as her hair was covering her face a lot. Then she put her head down and went to the back of the car to the woman.

"Come you monkeys away from the window" Tracy said coming into the room with the mail.

"But there's a new person" Tyler said pointing out the window.

"Really?!" Tracy said coming to the window as well trying to get a look.

"Ha, who's the monkey now?" I said to Tracy, laughing and putting Harry down.

"Oh shut up!" she said back and tried to hit me around the head with a letter but I ducked out of the way and went to sit on the sofa again.

Eventually the rest of the residents joined me on the sofas and there being so many of us Harry had on sit on my legs. We all waited for the mysterious girl to show her face

"I wonder what she's like?" Tee said voicing everyone's thoughts.

"I hope she can play football" Johnny said to his sister.

"I hope she likes pink" Carmen said.

"And giraffes" Harry added while hugging Jeff.

While we were all debating what she might be like I got thirsty so I picked up Harry and put him in my seat and went to the kitchen. I got a can of Pepsi out of the fridge and when I closed the fridge door I saw Mike walking down the corridor in my direction with the lady from earlier and I think someone behind them.

"Oh, hey Rick" Mike said when he noticed me.

"Hey, Mike" I said while opening my can of Pepsi.

"So anyway this is the kitchen and I see Gina isn't in here so then now let's go into the office without her and finish the paperwork shall we" Mike said to the woman. The woman nodded her head with a smile on face and followed Mike down the corridor again. I took a sip of my Pepsi and then saw the girl look back and smile. I smiled back, picked up my drink and went back to the living room where as soon as I entered everyone stopped and stared at me. I looked left and right and then back at them.

"What?" I asked really confused.

"Did you talk to her?" Carmen asked straight away.

"No" I said, walking over, putting my drink down, going to my seat, picking up Harry and sitting down again with him on my lap, "I didn't even get a good look at her except when she looked at me and smiled". When I said that everyone went to what they were doing. I talked to Harry about what he was doing today and about the new girl for a good five minutes.

"Guys can I have your attention" Mike said from the door and everyone looked around. "Everyone this is Samantha" he stud aside and I saw the girl I saw earlier but better.
