The world can be a dark place, and life can be confusing, and nobody knows this better than me. My name is Flame. Yes, I know, that's a weird name to give to a cat (much less to anyone in general), but it is what it is, so you'll just have to deal with it. Anyways, as I mentioned before, I do have a history with the issues that life throws out there. What issues? Well, let me explain.

When I was still young (very young), my parents left me. The only thing I remember was that they left because they wanted to save me. At the time, there was an evil tyrant who was attempting to take over, and my parents knew they couldn't stay in hiding forever. In a decision of desperation, they agreed to leave me behind so that I wouldn't get caught too. I have no clue what happened to them at this point in time.

I was forced to learn how to fend for myself, and for quite a while I managed. However, I eventually felt the need to have some company around (after all, I am a very extroverted character). So, I set out to look for others like me.

Heh, good luck with that.

I'm a special kind of cat (a variety of, oh, what's it called, anthropomorphic species) and there aren't many like me. At least I don't think there are. My parents were the only ones I knew to be like me, although how they got those traits I can only imagine. So, it's pretty easy to think about how well I was received by others.

Did you say not very well? I agree.

I was just too different. I loved talking to others, and for a lot of groups they enjoyed talking to me as well. However, that didn't save me from the rejection. I'd be mocked, ignored, and kicked out, and I even received my two scars from two different groups. They were just mean, fighting groups (I liked the fighting part, not necessarily the mean part) that kicked me out for no reason, and when I asked why, they just slashed me with their claws. That's where the scars on my right eye and belly came from. They're not just symbolic features (well, they sort of are, but still, they're there).

Now, this may sound like a ridiculous amount of time, but I was alone/rejected for 15 years (with the exception of a couple friends here and there). Yeah. That's a long time. However, one day, that all came to an end.

I was walking in the forest in a place called Vancouver, and I came across something. I just stared at the thing at first, partly because I didn't know what it was and partly because I couldn't see what it was. All of a sudden, it just jumped at me and landed on my shoulder. Now, I know it was meant to be playful, but who wouldn't swat some mystery thing off that landed on your shoulder? Well, it turns out I accidentally launched the thing into a tree with the force that came from me shaking my arm and trying to get it off. I ventured over, hoping I hadn't killed it, and much to my surprise it looked back up at me.

This is how I met Monstercat.

I've been with him and the Monstercat family for a full year now. All has been going well so far (and might I add, some of the producers are a bit... crazy), and I truly feel like I've found my forever home. Heck, this cat is like me. Well, sort of. He lacks hands and paws... and eyes, but nonetheless, he's still like me.

I was informed the other day, though, that a threat had been spotted. We don't know what it is at the moment since we've been having some fun vacationing by the riverside (we've been riding jet skis all day). However, I'm sure we'll find out soon. The clouds ahead of us sure look ominous, so hopefully we don't get caught in the storm before we get back home. I just can't help but feel that threat has something to do with this...
