Hi my name is Gabrielle but everybody calls me Gabe. My mom picked my name and my dad was happy because it was "Girly". He's not so happy now because i prefer to be called Gabe because it's a boy's name my best friend's names are Kelly and Jake I've known them for years. Kelly and I are on our school swim team together but Jakes's kind of scared of the water but this is the story of my life so here I go.
"GABE IT'S TIME TO GET UP SWEETIE!!!" Said mom as I wake I groan and press my pillow onto my face as I get up I put on a T-shirt and shorts that lay on my bedroom floor am not awake yet as I put my school books in my bag and rush down stairs for breakfast am eating the eggs that mom made when dad says So Gabrielle- I want you to call me Gabe I interrupt him with a annoyed face Yes right he said dad has a big problem with that because it's not "Girly" there's with Father-Daughter dance coming up he said with a slight smile DAD I told you I hate going to those dances! I said resting my head on the kitchen table Honey mom said to dad as though she was trying to change his mind sorry I would love to keep talking about this but I have to go I said lying i think about this as I wait for Kelly and Jake at the bus stop we are all neighbors they went to kindergarten together but I moved here in the second grade "GABE!!" I turn around and see Kelly running to me with a smile on her face and some toast in her hand
