Virus walked around camp, with no actual destination. She thought while walking, maybe she should find Kelsey. Kelsey was Virus's friend, probably her only. Ever since Virus came to camp, Kelsey was the only one who wanted to be her friend. Her past wasn't the brightest, and neither was everybody's in camp, so what was the problem? Kelsey was a daughter of Kronos, so that didn't help her case with the friend situation. Everybody kept their distance from the two like they were aliens on Earth. That bothered Virus slightly. Another thing about Kelsey was that she was almost always bored, so perhaps they both could figure out something to do. A moment after the thought, Kelsey found Virus first.
"Hey, Virus." Kelsey greeted.
"Hey. Have you noticed everybody being strange? It's like something big might happen or whatever. People say that the gods have gone silent, whatever that means, and that the mortal world is in pandemonium."
"Yeah, I've noticed it... I don't know what's happening, it's crazy truly, the gods are never silent." Kelsey replied, putting her notebook back in her sack that she always carried around with her.
"That's odd, has th-" Virus didn't get to finish her sentence, as she was interrupted by someone.
"Hello, ladies." A gruff, but crisp, voice said behind her.
Virus turned around to see Chiron, the camp director. Great, she thought, maybe he can tell us what's going on. "Hey, Chiron. What's up?"
"Hello, Chiron." Kelsey greeted.
"Do you two have the time to talk It's urgent." He said, not waiting for an answer, he walked into the direction of the Big House.
Virus glances at Kelsey. "Might be more serious if he wants to talk, plus he didn't wait for an answer, so let's go. Don't want to keep him waiting."
"Yeah, I agree, let's go." Kelsey nodded.
Virus turned on her heels and started walking towards the Big House, Kelsey following behind. She ignored the part of her brain telling her to walk quicker. She could walk however quick she wanted. Once they were in front of the Big House, Virus opened the door. Not bothering to knock. The room came into view, and so did Chiron, who was sitting in a wheelchair.
"So, what do you need from us?" Virus asked. Kelsey nodded, which made Virus think she said what Kelsey wanted to say.
"I need you two to go on a... Quest of sorts." He started. "As you know, the gods have been silent and the mortal world is in slight chaos. No camper wanted to the take the quest, and you two were the only ones I haven't asked to take it. So, my question is, will you?"
Virus glanced at Kelsey, who glanced at Virus. As if silently asking "Do you want to take it?". Virus turned back to Chiron. "We'll do it. There anywhere specific we need to start?"
