It's a strange world that we live in, and I can tell you with certainty that it will be stranger still in the far distant future.
You don't need to know who I am, it really doesn't matter. I'll be disappearing soon, anyway.
Just know, that I know what will happen. Even before all of the events that lead to the end of our world as we know it, I know what will come after. I might not know until the end of time, but there is one episode that I want to tell you about. I wish that I could tell you something about love.
The world will still be a good one for love, but love doesn't come into what I have to tell you about. There's romance throughout the cities, but there is not time for love in the story I'm about to tell.
What am I saying, I'm not telling you a story. I'm telling you the truth. I'm just a reporter, telling you what happens. I'm not going to bore you with a lesson. If you want something from what I'm about to tell you and if it helps with your life, that's wonderful. I'm glad I could help. I just suppose that I feel compelled to tell you this story. The internets a beautiful thing, because you can tell everyone everything and yet you can be buried under so much that you'll never be heard. So no one will ever ridicule you if you play your cards right, and you can say what needs to be said.
So now, I will say what I need to say:
In the far distant future, the world that you may know today will change. The way that we humans do things will almost always bring about change in one way or another. We're so set in our ways that sometimes we may make the same mistakes many times over and learn to late, but to our credit, we're versatile. We adapt.
I'm really not sure how it was that future humans became so special. My feeling is that it was something dire, but somehow along the way; humans developed special powers.
No, not bipedalism or opposable thumbs. What I see is our next evolution, and it is sheer magic. Although it makes parenting a lot harder. I think that it started with mind reading, humans need a new way to communicate, I think it has something to do with empathy with the way it works. Next I think comes mental manipulation. People will begin to become extremely good at manipulating others. Sometimes this leads people to doing terrible things. I don't know fully how it works but in old sci-fi movies you can see the concept being put to work.
After that, I think comes telekinesis. Humans will begin to be able to move things with their mind. After that a million possibilities. I haven't yet seen the full extent of what humans will be able to do, but I know that shadows and light can be controlled, illusions can become widespread. Being connected to the earth is the next thing that people can do using the air humans can fly, and...
I don't want to tell you the full extent of what comes next. You'll see in the story...no, future history lesson that I tell you.
I'm now looking very far ahead, and I see a room atop a skyscraper. There is a man standing at the window looking sadly at a television screen. He's well groomed, although sleep deprivation has undone all the work of his good grooming. His name is Johnson, although I will refer to him as John. Behind him is a window overlooking the city. The view is a very narrow one, and all that can be seen looking out of it is a mountain range spreading East. The city below is all steely gray. It's all fading into a singular blackness, but I know that there are patches of green here and there, which might be parks, but they just look random from up here. There's no point in going on about whats out there. What's really interesting is going on in this room. A meeting is forming, a meeting of the Son's.
A long awaited prophecy has been fulfilled.
