Reyanna blinked in disbelief. Hayden Lenox, the Duke of Devonshire just proposed to her. He confessed his love for her.

To add to her shock, and the butterflies, Hayden walked towards her. In a second, his arms cupped her face and he kissed her.

Fireworks.

That's what she felt. Fireworks erupted in her body, but before she could kiss him back, Hayden pulled away. She was still in a daze as Hayden picked the dress Reyanna dropped and placed it with the others. He analyzed the dresses kept on the rack. He picked two dresses, a purple and the silver one and walked towards a dazed Reyanna.

"If you wear purple in the wedding, I'll believe you love me too. If it's silver, then I'll understand you choose your comfort zone. I don't know what you'll choose, Reya, but believe me when I say that, I will respect and honor your wishes. Whatever they are," He told her in a serious tone.

He handed the dresses to her and turned to leave.

"I won't stop courting you until the wedding gets over," He faced her again with a bright smile and left the shop.

Reyanna sat down on one of the chairs with confusion and touched her lips. She smiled goofily. He was in love with her and wanted to spend his life with her. Hayden Lennox, the Duke of Devonshire wanted to marry her!

Her smile faded, what about their differences? Their different cultures? Will the world accept her as the Duchess? Will she fit in?

She had two weeks to think about it. She had to do it fast.

____

It was the end of the first week. Hayden did what he promised, he courted her. He showered her with gifts and sweet gestures that melted her heart.

He took her out for dinner and booked an entire section for them. He told her that he would keep it a secret until Reyanna didn't want them to be public. He made her laugh, listened to her problems, helped solve them, pitch ridiculously cute pickup lines at her. He made her blush all night. He kissed her too. But he didn't let her kiss him back.

Reyanna wanted to do that, but Hayden never made the kiss last longer. They were sweet pecks that stole her heart touch by touch. It was weird, but she liked it.

Her last week just a day before the rehearsal dinner, Reyanna didn't see Hayden the whole day. He was to be present for the speech rehearsal but he wasn't. The rehearsal got over smoothly, much to Reyanna's relief. She wondered where Hayden was, he didn't reply to anyone's calls or messages the whole day. To her surprise, Reyanna came home to find her Abuela and Hayden in the kitchen. Surprised by the sight, she dragged her Abuela out to ask what Hayden was doing here.

"He really loves you, Reya. He was here the whole day. Your grandpa approves of him. I think he is absolutely dashing and adorable. Don't come inside okay? I don't want you to ruin the efforts he's putting," She patted her cheek, and went back to the kitchen.

Reyanna stood there, as she was prohibited to come inside the kitchen. But she wasn't prohibited to watch from the entrance. Her eyes didn't leave Hayden as he stirred something, sprinkled spices, and cut vegetables. He was sweating a lot. Even though her Abuela's kitchen was air conditioned, Hayden was sweating was clear. His shirt was wet and so was his hair. He looked adorable when he would rub away his sweat with his dirty hand. It was hard for him to wipe the sweat and make food, but the struggle made her heart fill with bubbles of happiness.

Reyanna decided she couldn't stand him struggling, even though he looked adorable. She took a hand towel and walked towards Hayden when her Abuela went out of the kitchen after instructing him. She made sure she didn't peek at all.
