"I'll kill that bitch!" Rylen gritted her teeth with her hands fisted.
Giovanna Santos was lucky Rylen was bedridden. But her luck only lasted a few days. She took in a deep breath and looked at a guilty Enrique. Her expression softened at his expression.
"Sit here," She said motioning to her bed.
"Me?" He was shocked.
"No, I was talking to Invisible Man behind you. Of course you idiot," Rylen rolled her eyes.
Enrique chuckled, but nodded and sat facing Rylen.
"Look, Enrique, I want to make this bloody clear to you that nothing about my injury is your fault. There is nothing you could do about it. Yes, you didn't let me fulfill my purpose, but it only motivated me to work harder. I do not blame you, or your team. We won the tournament and you didn't. Yes, I fell down and got hurt. It was a ball you kicked, but I could have been hurt by any other person yesterday. It's a game, anyone can get hurt," She tried to make him understand. "I don't blame you, and neither does my team," She told him.
Enrique looked relieved by her words.
"Thank god! I thought you might never talk to me again," Enrique said, his expression afterward told Rylen that he didn't mean to say it out loud.
"I would never stop talking to you," Rylen smiled. Her eyes widened when a blush crept on Enrique's face. "I mean because of such stupid reasons," She cleared but couldn't prevent the warmth creeping on her face.
"Oh," Enrique looked away. "Hey! You have this book too!" He pointed towards one of the books her Mama had got, and they fell into a conversation.
Rylen finally felt good. She wasn't cranky anymore or had the urge to escape. She was pretty content talking to Enrique losing the track of time. Enrique promised he would let Rylen read some of his stories after a lot of emotional blackmail from Rylen.
"I don't know what to do. I mean I do want to study, but I can't leave any of the offers except choosing between Barca and Madrid," Rylen told him her dilemma.
"Then don't," Enrique said simply.
"How?" Rylen asked.
"Look I applied for the same course as yours. They have a distance learning option as well for people like us. You can always do that," He told her.
"Good idea! But is that any good?" Rylen asked.
"Yeah, it is. By the way, Barcelona too approached me through my Coach. I accepted," He told her.
"Oh my god! Congratulations!" She said taking out her good hand for him to shake.
As their hands touched, Rylen felt a static she had only heard her Mama and Papa talk about. It confirmed all doubts she had regarding her crush on the boy in front of her.
"Thanks! Although I am not lucky enough to be approached by the National team. I might play the next club matches though," He grinned.
"That is awesome. How cool would it be if we were in rival teams again?" Rylen joked.
"I don't think I'll like it," He frowned. Rylen's face turned warm at his words.
"Me neither," She muttered. "Thanks for the help though. I'll consider the distance learning thing," She told him.
"Anytime," Enrique smiled.
Her Mama and nurse came in a few minutes after with coffee for Enrique, and Rylen's dinner only then they both realized how late it was.
