To New Beginnings [Jasper Hale stand-alone story]

Chapter 2: Him

    "Hannah it's good to see you". Bella smiled as the guy extended his hand out to me. I glanced from his face to his hand back to his face. I had known almost everyone in Forks since I was little, but I had never seen people like....people this beautiful before. He was god like in appearance and yet he seemed so old fashioned.
It was very rare for Forks to grow in population, especially if someone as beautiful as he was moved here to this wet small town.
I let out a sigh and grabbed his hand. His hand seemed colder then most people's hands that I had touched, but it was almost winter in Forks and it was dark out so it seemed normal.
    "Nice to meet you..."
He smiled. "Edward. Edward Cullen. I'm Bella's...boyfriend". He introduced himself. Boyfriend? I looked from his face to Bella's and she was bright red. How did my cousin score some as handsome as him was a complete mystery to me.
     "Well it's umm...nice to meet you Edward. I guess I'll see you around here often". Seeing him around this house was going to be interesting. He nodded his head and out of the corner of my eye I could see Charlie just rolling his eyes. I smiled and grabbed both my bags and proceeded to drag them up the stairs. Man why did I have to pack so much?! I didn't live here, but man how I wish I did.
    I lifted my bag over my shoulder and in the process of slamming it onto the guest bed I nearly fell over on top of it. I pushed myself back up and tied my long curly hair back just as a fancy black car sped out of the driveway. I let out a sigh which proceeded to move some hairs out of my face. Edward seemed like an interesting guy who seemed to really care for my cousin. Good for her. And better for me. One less guy for me. I had more important things to focus on like being back in the country then boys. I had missed the wet thick pine forests of Forks so much. And I couldn't wait to get some hiking done.

    "Your already up?" I turned my head from the kitchen table to find my cousin still dressed in her Pjs. It was my first day at Forks high school and I was kinda nervous, but I just hoped that I few kids from elementary school recognized me...maybe I was hoping for too much.
    "Yeah. I'm an early bird I guess". Bella groaned and went back upstairs to get changed. Just as I heard her door close behind her Charlie popped into the kitchen.
     "Morning kiddo". He grabbed a cup and poured some milk into it.
     "Morning Uncle Charlie. Hey do we have any toast?" Charlie pointed to the basket near the fridge. I smiled and popped a single piece of bread into the toaster.
    "That was quick". I said as my toast popped up and Bella walked into the room we were I fully dressed in jeans and a tee with brown jacket.
    "You don't have to wait for me". Bella said reaching for an apple. I grabbed the butter out of the fridge and buttered my toast.
    "Your my ride so I do". Bella looked down at Charlie and he let out a sigh. I bit into my perfectly crisp breakfast and then both there eyes meant mine. I raised an eyebrow at them.
     "What?"
Charlie sighed. "Edwards been giving Bells rides to school and back".
     "Oh". Crap.
    "It's okay. Edward wouldn't mind giving you a ride today". Bella offered. I faked a smile as I heard the slamming of a car door. Edwards car door.
    "Can you answer the door Hannah I left my books upstairs?" Of course you did. I nodded my head and walked out of the kitchen. I didn't want to turn Edward down for a ride since he seemed like a great guy, but I also didn't want to intrude on him and Bella. I hated being a third wheel to anyone. I had gotten enough of that with my mom and her new husband and I didn't want any of that here.
I just shook my head and opened the door. And when I didn't see Edward standing in the doorway my heart stopped. This guy. Standing in Edwards place looked like Edward, but he was much more handsome and he had short sleeker blonde hair. The smile across his face made my cheeks grow red and I knew I had to snap out of it before this guy thought I was a creeper.
The guys raised an eyebrow at me but still continued to smile.
    "Jasper? I thought-"
The guy before me, Jasper glanced over my shoulder at my cousin. They knew each other?! How?!
    "I'm sorry Bella, but Edward had..." he glanced over at me then back at my cousin. "He had something he had to take care off. I offered to pick you up instead". Jasper explained. He looked back at me and his smile widened even more.
    "I'm so lost". I blurted out.
    "Oh Hannah this is Jasper Hale". Jasper bowed and I blushed slightly again. What the hell was this guy doing to me?! "Jasper this is my cousin Hannah Beckett".
    "It's a pleasure to meet you Hannah". Jasper greeted me. I smiled.
    "Nice to..meet you too Jasper". I glanced at my cousin. "Are he and Edward-"
      "Edward is my adoptive brother. Doctor Carlisle and Esme adopted me and my siblings when we were very young". Jasper explained to me. So he and Edward were related. Oh boy. Double the trouble it seemed. I sighed. No Hannah quadruple the trouble or more. If Jasper and Edward were this hot I couldn't imagine what the rest of their family looked like.
    "That explains a lot". I said sneaking a look at Jasper. He nodded his head slightly and moved out of the way.
     "Shall we?"
Without thinking about it I had beat Bella to the car and I got in the front seat. In the front of the fancy car. Next to Jasper. The guy who I had just meant who also was making my heart flutter. I didn't need that now. I was here to get away from distractions like that yet here I was. Already getting distracted.
     I let out a big sigh and peeked over at Jasper. Some how I felt comfortable around him all of a sudden and that didn't seem to make any sense. Just a few minutes ago I was blushing up a storm and now here I was next to him practically and I was just calm as a summer breeze. My emotions had never changed this fast before, but then again I had never seen someone this attractive before in my whole life. Continuing to sneak a peek at him his eyes finally left the roads and meant mine. I instantly looked away and I swear I could have seen him smile at me.

Yes! She finally meets Jasper!
