Like Minded (Part 1)

Reyanna clicked a few pictures of Rylen and sent some to Roman. Rylen quickly went downstairs to find her Papa on phone with someone. He stopped mid sentence when he saw Rylen, but gained his composure soon, and ended his call, murmuring an, 'I'll call you later'.

"Anna!" He called her Mama.

"Yes, Rey?" Her Mama descended from Rylen's room.

"What happened to her? What did you do to my champ?" He asked referring to Rylen. She scoffed but smiled at her Papa's antics.

"Just turned your champ into a championette," She smiled.

"I'm here you know," Rylen interrupted.

"Ry...you look amazing, champ," Her Papa hugged her. Rylen reached his shoulder, a bit taller than Reyanna and Mama.

"Thanks, Pa," She hugged him back.

"You two! Separate! Don't destroy my masterpiece!" Reyanna entered the scene.

Rylen and her Papa pulled back and laughed.

"You are the boss, Princess," Her Papa kissed Reyanna's forehead and she grinned.

Reyanna was Papa's princess while Rylen was the champ and Roman was the prodigy son, smarter than anyone in the family.

Reyanna was the girly girl, the one good with colors and creativity, the artistic one. Rylen was the athletic and sporty one. She was into gymnastics before Papa discovered her talent in football. Roman was smart and intelligent. He wasn't nerdy, but he was great in school and had an out of the box approach. At 15, he gave the idea of the underground hotel with all amenities for people who want a break from their hectic lives. Out of the grid. This made De la Cruz Resorts on the top of the business. That's why he was in the USA, studying and polishing his skills.

"Go now!" Her Mama chuckled.

"See you soon gorgeous," Her Papa kissed her Mama's cheek.

"And you too beautiful," Then he kissed Reyanna forehead.

"See you soon. Have fun Ry!" They wished Rylen as they left the house.

"I hope you didn't do all this for a guy," Her Papa said as they drove towards the venue of the party.

Adreyan Valdez being one of the trustees of the Inter Spanish Football Community was to attend the party as well.

"The only guy I did this for was my Coach because he said he won't let me inside if I show up in a tux," Rylen rolled her eyes.

"You told him you would come in a tux?" Her father snickered.

"Well he said formally dressed, I said how 'bout a tux? He said he won't let me inside if I showed up in that," Rylen explained.

Her Papa laughed at that. Rylen was naïve, and innocent sometimes. He tends to forget sometimes that she was a seventeen-year-old girl who liked to behave as if she was a boy.

"Rylen listen to me carefully, okay?" He told her and Rylen nodded. "We are trying to create equality between boys and girls in football. We want to tell the world that women are as good players, if not better than boys. All over the world, female sports persons have to be recognized and this is our way of promoting that. Your Coach wants to present the idea as well. The clothes you wear are not a problem, that's your choice. But it is to show that girls get an equal chance is what matters. There are other girls playing other clubs and all of them have a feminine side. Your Coach wanted you to show that too. And your Mama and sister have done the work quite nicely because you look absolutely beautiful," He told her.
