Rylen turned away to leave towards the Thriller section again. She didn't want to waste her time on idiots with no love for books.

Rylen picked 3 books and went towards the counter to find her Mama talking to Christian.

"Hey! I didn't make you wait, did I?" Rylen asked reaching the counter.

"No. I just reached. There were a lot of people in line for the food," Her Mama assured her.

"Is it true Rylen?" Christian asked.

"What is?" Rylen asked him in confusion.

"Your Mama says that you have chances of getting selected in the under 19 team," Christian explained.

"She just says that because she's my Mama. But our Coach did say that the selectors will be present there in the Inter Spanish Club Championship this week. There might be a chance, but they have never selected a female player before," Rylen told him.

"Yet," Christian smiled at her as he checked out her books. "You must never lose hope. My mijo says the same thing, but I tell him to always give his best. When you get pleased with yourself, then only you can excel in life," He advised.

"Thanks, I'll keep it in mind," Rylen smiled at him. "Your son plays football?" Rylen asked. She knew he had a son of around her age, but she wasn't aware of football.

"Yeah. You might face him in your tournament. Let me call him," Christian told him.

"Rick!" He called out, "Rick!" He called out again, but there was no response. Christian looked confused.

"He must have gone out. I'll see you in the games, Rylen. All the best!" He wished her.

"All the best to your son as well," Rylen said.

"See you, Christian," Her mom waved him goodbye as they both left the store.

"Oh my god!" Her Mama exclaimed as they were near the exit.

"What?" Rylen asked.

"We have to get you matching shoes!" Her Mama told her.

"Ma! I have those ankle length boots that you make me wear for special occasions. I'll wear them. Come on, Papa is waiting," Rylen told her.

"I forgot about your father. Yes, we should go, or he'll turn my kitchen into a disaster looking for food," Her Mama rushed her out of the complex.

"Ma, Pa cooks better than you at times," Rylen told her sitting in the car.

"His cooking is not something I worry about, finding the ingredients are the thing I fear," Her Mama reminded her.

"Oh yes! I remember that time when he was looking for salt everywhere in the kitchen, and couldn't find it," Rylen chuckled.

"The salt was on the table. Right in front of him. He ruined the kitchen because of it," Her Mama joined.

Suddenly her Mama's phone started ringing, it was her father.

"We are on our way, Rey," Her Mama answered the phone, putting it on the loudspeaker.

"I cannot find any bread. I am sure I got it yesterday," His father said.

"Do not look for anything. We got lunch, get out of the kitchen," Her Mama told him.

"But I wanted some toast!" He whined.

"Adreyan Valdez, if you don't get out of my kitchen this instant..." Mama warned.

"If I don't get out then what?" Papa challenged in much huskier voice.
