"Sure. Tapas?" Rylen asked.
"Okay, you want to come along?" She asked Rylen.
"Nah. I'll roam around. Ping me when you're done," Rylen told her Mama. They parted ways and Rylen went straight to the place she loved since she was a kid.
'The Old School Bookstore', this was the only place in Barcelona which sold hardbound books. E-books, audio books, and graphic novels were in nowadays, but Rylen unlike any of her sibling loved reading from a physical book.
Rylen knew her Mama won't have to ping her. Rylen would only be found here when she says she'll roam around. While Roman and Reyanna shopped for clothes and accessories, Rylen read and bought books. Apart from football, this was the only thing she liked.
The smell of books filled her nostrils as she entered the bookstore. A small smile made its way to her lips as she saw the owner of 'Old School', Christian Alvarez sitting behind the counter reading something on his iPad. Ironic.
"Hola, Christian," Rylen greeted him.
"Rylen Valdez! Good to see you," Christian looked at her from his iPad, and kept it aside.
"Yeah, same here. Last month I came, you weren't here," Rylen told him.
"Oh yes! We were gone on a family vacation for a couple of weeks. What brings you here? I hope you want some new books," Christian grinned.
Christian was about her Papa's age and extremely friendly. Probably because she shared the same love and respect for books as he did.
"Actually I came with Mama, she's gone to get us lunch so I decided to come here. I missed this place," Rylen looked around with fondness. The best part of the complex was this bookstore for her.
"I'm sure the store missed you as well. Go, look around, if I see your mother, I'll let her know you are here," Christian told her and Rylen gave him a grateful look and walked towards the Thriller section.
Rylen shuffled through the Thriller section when she heard noises. The noise was obvious, there were people in the store, but this was not just any noise, they were kissing noises.
Rylen followed the sound, she knew she reached the culprits when she saw two teenagers almost on the verge of ripping each other's clothes.
"Hey!" She said loud enough for them to stop and look at her with horror. "This is no place for you horny fuckers! Get the fuck out before I call the security!" Rylen warned them.
The kids might be young because they ran out of the door with fear.
"Fucking assholes," Rylen muttered and turned to leave when her eye caught something.
A boy was standing just behind the bookshelf where the teenage couple was exchanging saliva. God, she hopes they did only that. This was a Holy place, just like the Church.
"Why didn't you stop them?" Rylen asked the boy. He might be standing there enjoying the show.
The boy looked surprised at her words.
"I...uh.." He stammered.
"Must have been exciting huh? Getting a free show of their horny hormones? Fucking morons," Rylen rolled her eyes and looked at the boy with disgust.
He seemed like he was her age. He had black hair, styled in a side parting. His eyes appeared black and innocent. His face was rectangular, almost seemed chiseled, but he had those big ugly specs that no one wore covering most of it. He had a wheatish complexion while his physique hid in the oversized full sleeves t-shirt he wore with baggy pants.
