Like Minded (Part 1)

She put her phone in her pocket and ran downstairs to find her Mama coming out of her room with a huge grin on her face.

"Sup?" She asked her.

"Nothing you want to know," She said, Rylen made a face.

Her Papa too came out of the room in his PJ's, sans t-shirt if she might add.

"Rey! Why the hell are you not wearing a shirt? " Rylen's Mama shrieked at the state of her husband.

His hair was messy. He was yawning as if he just woke up. What was he up to?

"Oh hey, Ry! Heard you and your Mama are going shopping today leaving me home? " Papa asked, winking at her gaping Mama.

"You two are so obvious. I don't want to see this. I'll wait outside," Rylen said popping a gum in her mouth. She walked outside taking out her phone and tapping on Counter Strike 20.0.

"Take that, fucktards! " She shouted sitting on the stairs outside their house.

"Rylen! Language! " Her Papa's voice warned.

"Papa! PDA! " She said in a sing-song voice and got up dusting her jeans.

"That's tough," He looked at his wife who just blushed and looked away.

"Then deal with the language," Rylen shrugged then looked at her Mama, "Are we going or not? " She asked her.

"Oh yes! We have to go. Now! " She said looking at her and Rylen's Papa's intertwined hands.

"I hope there are no plans for another sibling. I am not going to tolerate any of those horrendous crying babies. Trish's were enough," Rylen said it randomly, but it made her parents blush.

"I'll see you guys later," Her Papa cleared his throat and kissed her Mama's cheek and ruffled her hair before going inside. He was definitely flustered.

"We should finish this shopping thing fast, or Papa will kill me," Rylen joked, not looking up from her game.

"Nothing like that is happening and we'll take as much time as we need to," Her Mama said. She looked embarrassed too. Funny they reacted the same as well.

"Chill Ma, it's going your twentieth is coming soon. I don't mind the romance. Just keep it out of my sight and I'm fine," Rylen told her finishing the level.

She closed the game and looked up just in time to reach the shopping complex. It wasn't a mall, but a whole town itself. From flea markets to high-end stores and designer labels, everything was found in one place.

"One day you will find someone like this and then our relationship won't sound so gross to you," Her Mama smiled at her.

"I hope not! Love is okay. It's cool what you and Pa have, but it's not happening to me soon. I'm just only seventeen," Rylen said getting out of the car.

"Your sister found a guy. Maybe you will too," Her Mama looked very enthusiastic at the thought.

"Puhlease! Reya and Juan don't do half the PDA you and Pa do. And that is saying something. I don't think they love each other anyway," Rylen pointed out.

Manolo Juan was Rylen's best friend and Reyanna's boyfriend. They had started dating a few months back and it didn't seem like it would last long.

"How can you say so?" Her Mama asked.

"It's not by the affection you show. I mean I know Juan, he might like Reya and all, but it's not love. And Reya is practically my other half. I'll know when she is in love," Rylen told her. Her Mama just smiled.
