That girl had hots for Enrique, it was scary. Dios help the poor soul.
"Hey, Valdez!" Sánchez's voice made her turn and saw Mérida and Sánchez coming towards her hand in hand.
"Who was the guy you were talking to, Ry?" Mérida asked.
"Valencia Eagles' striker, Enrique Alvarez. Turns out he's the son of the owner of my favorite store," She told her friends.
"The famous Enrique who never missed a goal?" Sánchez asked.
"Never heard about him," Rylen told him.
"Are you kidding me? He got benched last season for the Messi Cup because of an injury, or else we would have had chances to lose," He informed.
"Where am I when all this was discussed?" Rylen asked.
"Focusing on your goals, I guess. You focus on your aim, always ignorant of a person's attitude. That's what makes you so good. You are fearless," He told her.
"And pretty scary as well," Mérida pointed out.
"Okay...." Rylen was unsure if Sánchez and Mérida just insulted her, or not.
"Let's go look for others. I heard the ceremony was about to start," Sánchez said taking Mérida's hand as they made way towards Torres and his girlfriend.
Rylen turned her head to find her Papa but instead saw Enrique who was standing with Giovanna and another guy she recognized their team's Captain. They were laughing at something. Suddenly, feeling someone's gaze on him, Enrique looked at her and Rylen turned her head the other way.
What is she doing? Creepily looking at a boy? What was she, 3? Dios, she needed another drink.
But Rylen couldn't get one because she saw her Coach talking to Sánchez, who stood next to the team. Rylen walked fast to join them.
"Ah, Rylen. Just the person I was waiting for!" Coach Rodriquez said as Rylen arrived.
"Waddup, Coach?" She enquired.
"There are a lot of college recruiters here. I want you all to come into their eyes so that they look out for you in the match. I have talked to a few, just behave yourselves and you'll be good," He told them.
"Okay. Thanks, Coach," Sánchez thanked him. Coached patted his shoulder.
"They like you already, son. Don't worry, you'll be fine," He told him. "Come now, they are starting the ceremony," He said.
The rest of the night was boring as Rylen expected. Her Papa had called her and Sánchez to introduce them to a recruiter after recruiter.
Rylen wanted to cry, that's how much she was bored. She even asked her Papa how long they had to stay. He just shook his head, patted her shoulder, and walked away. It won't be soon she figured.
Most of her team was gone, only Juan and Torres were there. Torres was making out with his girlfriend somewhere, and Juan was texting his.
"I'm bored, Juan!" She whined.
"Play your game then," He said not looking up from his phone. He was smirking looking at it.
"My battery is gone," She showed him the blank screen of her phone. She had used it up in playing games.
"Go take a walk. Talk to the birds. I am on an important topic," He told her.
"What topic?" She asked.
"What new position to try next we....Owww!" Juan exclaimed as Rylen hit his bicep.
"She's my sister you shitface fuckcrack! Don't say stuff like that!" She glared at him.
