"Now what?" Juan asked.

"Umm...it's complicated. She says she wants a guy who can travel the world with her. I told her to date a pilot," Sánchez told them. No one laughed, Rylen looked at him weirdly.

"What really happened?" She asked. She knew when Sánchez lied, Mérida wasn't like that.

"It's just we are getting apart. I have too many responsibilities. I forgot our anniversary, and she got mad saying I don't love her anymore. I apologized, I told her I won't forget any anniversary now. She said it wasn't just an anniversary, I don't take her out on dates, or spend time with her. I told her if she feels like this then its better we break up," Sánchez explained.

"It's okay, Sánchez. Everything will be fine, you'll get this scholarship, and then you can finally relax from everything," Rylen consoled her friend.

Pedro Sánchez, the captain of her football team and her best friend was the most serious person Rylen ever met.

Well if this tournament was your only ticket to a good college you would be serious too. Pedro wasn't as wealthy as everyone in the team was. He had a tough life. Rylen knew he needed the scholarship more than Rylen ever did.

"I love her, Ry. I do, but she's right. I forget important things. I get off from work late and don't talk to her at times because too tired. My Mama's health takes most of my time. I can't be there for her when she needs me because I have to tend to my ailing mother. I take her for granted too much. I don't deserve her and she hates me," Sánchez looked that he could cry.

"Um... amigo. I think you have to check again with Mérida because I don't think she agrees," Juan said looking behind Sánchez and Rylen. They both tuned as Juan motioned them as Sánchez seemed shocked to see his girlfriend there.

Before Sánchez could say anything, Mérida spoke, "I'm sorry, Ped. I am an idiot to say those things to you. I knew when I loved you that you can't give me all of your time, and I made you feel like shit by saying all that. Forgive me, Pedro," Mérida apologized.

"You still love me?" Sánchez asked in disbelief.

"Never stopped," Mérida smiled.

Rylen had to push him because she could see Sánchez shivering. Sánchez stumbled but gained his footing before Mérida pulled him into a kiss.

"Woohoo!" Juan and Rylen clapped gaining an audience.

"Tell them how to do it, Sánchez!" Torres wolf whistled and they both broke away with grinning faces.

"Shut it guys, let the love birds talk in peace," Juan grinned.

Sánchez nodded and he and Mérida went to find a quiet place.

"You called her, didn't you?" Juan asked Rylen who shrugged. "How did you know?" He asked her. Rylen motioned him to walk towards the drinks section.

"I saw her crying in the washroom after practice today. Gave her the address. I told her if she wanted to talk to Sánchez, he'd be here. I did remind her that Sánchez's life wasn't like hers, or mine. That worked, I guess," Rylen said simply before asking for a coke and whiskey. Juan just asked for a scotch.

"I don't get how you do that. You both actually, Reyanna too has the same compassion and urge to help others," Juan smiled at her.

"Yeah, blame our parents, but mostly Mama," Rylen told him.

"Manolo!" A voice called him. Juan turned and saw his father motioning to join him.

"You wish you called Reya," Rylen joked as he walked away with a groan.
