Adrianna's POV:
I got ready for school while facetiming one of my best friends, Alexis. We had been best friends since freshman year. We are now in senior year. Wait, let me introduce myself. I am Adrianna, I'm 17 years old. I live in a small town, basically everyone knows everyone. I laughed as Alexis made fun of my face as I applied some light mascara.
"Aye, you make the exact same face." I replied, as I looked at myself in the mirror. My long, dirty blonde hair, pulled into two regular braids. I had done my makeup as I usually did, complementing my light brown eyes, and face shape. I have a relatively thin face, with a small, defined nose, and semi-high cheek bones.
"Still." She laughed. I then gave her a playful look of annoyance. She mocked my look as I put up my makeup, and grabbed my bags. Since our friend Ali, her, and I were going to the ranch for a couple weeks, for the beginning of summer vacation.
"Alright see you at school." I told her and she nodded before hanging up. I then texted Ali to make sure she did not forget her bag for the ranch. I hugged my mom as we exchanged goodbyes, before I drove to school.
We all met up before class started and figured out the plan. Ali, wearing ripped blue jeans, with a comfy white top. Her long, dark brown, hair pulled into two french braids, and her makeup on point as always.
Alexis, however was in a dress made out of tee-shirt material. Her makeup as natural as possible, complementing her bright blue eyes. Her light brown hair, in beach waves.
*After School Arriving At The Ranch*
I followed Alexis through the gate of the ranch, Ali following behind me. We parked the cars and got out at the small cabin. The cabin was small, and had stone walls on the outside. The small porch, had a bench resting against the wall. A sign with "INDIAN" written in bold hanging off of the porch roof. As you walk in, the decoration purely indian culture items, such as; arrow heads, animal skin rugs, and more. It was very cozy, and adorable, our favorite place to stay.
We all got situated and left the cabin. After getting a golf cart and we drove to the main building where everyone usually is. Except no one was there... weird. We brushed it off, maybe no one had gotten there yet. So we took this chance to go to the river. We hopped back on the golf cart, and started to drive down to the river. About half way there, we heard moaning like sounds, as we got closer we noticed a few bodies hunched over something. The closer we got the more clear it was, someone, or somethings were feeding on something... or someone. Alex reached into a compartment on the golf cart and pulled out a 9 mm pistol. The... things heard the golf cart and turned toward us. I recognised some of them. One being Alex's dad, and some other members of the family. The others, were probably some new people, but they were coming at us. and they were hungry. I quickly made a u-turn and began to drive the other way. Alex, sitting in the back seat of the cart, began shooting the things. She shot once, then twice, but they kept coming. She finally got a head shot and it went down. She shot the rest, and once they were all down, I stopped the cart.
Ali who had stayed silent finally spoke up, "What the hell, was that?!" She shouted. I shrugged, and silently got off the cart. I glanced at Alex who was still recovering, and trying to wrap her head around what had just happened. I sighed, and approached one of the bodies, kneeling down to examine it. It definitely was Alex's dad. Weird part? He looked like a decaying body. He was already dead, even before Alex shot him. Ali and Alex walked over. "Addy what is it?" Ali asked, but stayed a few feet away. "Well, it's Junior." I replied. Alex looked at me, a confused expression clear on her face. "My dad?" She questioned, and I nodded. Her confused expression slowly turned into an expression of mourn as she dropped her gun.
Unfazed, I walked over to the area where they were feeding. Alex's perv Uncle Max was lying there, torn apart. "Huh, good riddance." I shrugged. Alex then walked over and recognized the face of the body, and scoffed before speaking up. "He deserved it." She stated. As we walked back to the cart, I thought of what I would call them, instead of 'things'. Well, they are dead, and they walk. Walking dead? Walkers for short.
