I awoke most suddenly, cold and in pain. Mine whole body was wracked, aching something terrible. Yet mine eyes flitted open easily, bearing mine senses to the pallor moonlight and black sky. The crowns of trees surrounding me on all sides tore the edges of the sky, fraying the light of this one's vision. That it did to sadden me, that I should not see more of this light, yet still foreign to mine common sense.
This is thusly how I came to remember this world, the land upon which mine feet trod: beautifully lit, while yet terrifyingly dark. Ney that I shall condemn the dark, of which even mine self is culprit, lest I am begotten unto hell. So quoth mine mother and father kindest, whom by God's grace have adopted me as one of their progeny.
