"Everything alright?" Ja'far asked?
I looked over at him and suddenly remembered the moment from last night and my face went crimson as I quickly looked down "n-n-no" I stammered a little.
Ja'far tilted his head in confusion at my reaction and shrugged continuing to look around "there are a lot of shops around here" I finally spoke up.
Ja'far nodded in agreement "Syndria being part of the seven seas alliance has created a vast variety of trading areas, some people even come here to set up shops of there own while they live here"
I smiled warmly as I tilted my head up towards the sky "the weather is so nice here"
"Is the weather where you used to live not as fair?" He asked.
"Kind of, but it's hot most of the time since we're in the outskirts of a large desert" I answered.
We continued our walk in silence as we continued to walk throughout the town, soon the blue sky had turned orange and the lamps outside of houses were being lit. I sat down on the beach, tucking the hems of my dress under my legs and watched the lapping of the waves.
Ja'far looked out into the ocean and asked "may I asked you something?"
I looked up "you just did" I laugh softly "but yes, you may"
"Why did you lie to all of us? Why couldn't you just tell us the truth?"
I looked away from him and back to the ocean and sighed softly "It was stupid of me to do yes. I believe back then when I was thinking of my plan I was worried Sinbad would deny me, thinking I had just wanted the power, or believed me to be a spy, especially if I were to tell him about the Kou empire general being my betrothed. I do regret it now, I promise you this."
Ja'far sat down in the sand and replied "I believe you. I don't think Sinbad would think of you as a spy if you told him. He isn't one to jump to accusations when it comes to meeting new people, he would have believed you and helped you without a second thought. While it's true we're hesitant about those who sail towards here, I don't think it would have been such an issue"
"Can I asked you something?" I asked looking over at him.
"sure"
"Why were you about to kiss me last night, then scurry off in embarrassment?"
Ja'far cleared his throat and replied "I will be honest with you, I have taken a liking to you. And it seems to be more of a friend, I don't know. I've never had these kind of feelings towards anyone so I didn't know how it'd feel. The kissing part was unintentional, if I truly do have feelings for you, and you with me, I don't want to just rush in and kiss you." he looked away, face pink from blushing "although sinbad would be the one to kiss first." he looked back at me "I am sorry"
I chuckled softly "Sinbad does seem to be the type of person to do that, but i also forgive you" I looked out to the ocean "And I feel like I do have feelings for you, but I would like to get to know you better first"
"Understood. Is being the first born really that terrible where you live?" Ja'far asked.
I sighed softly "Those before me, like my grandmother didn't seem to mind it all to much. But I feel different about it on the other hand. I never imagined myself to be like that whenever I got married, completely silent and letting my husband making all of the decisions."
"You're too independent for that" Ja'far chuckled.
I nod in reply chuckling softly "yeah I guess I am. I always imagined that whenever I get married my husband and I would rule together as one. I don't like the idea of someone making all of my decisions for me, and making the decisions of my kingdom without my opinion. That's another main reason why I fled"
I sighed again "I am sorry that I lied though, I promise that i won't ever lie to any of you again"
He nodded smiling, looking up at the now night sky "it looks like it's starting to get dark, why don't we head back to the castle?"
I nodded and took his hand as he stood up and then helped me up. As we started walking back I stated "when I think of you as a child, i think of you as this serious little Ja'far always puffing his cheeks whenever no one took him seriously"
Ja'far laughed "no I was far from that. When Sinbad and I first met, I was an assassin sent to kill him actually, and he fought me back without hesitation. We had met with each other once more in one of the dungeons he went to get and after that he offered me to stay with him. I had accepted and since then I had never regretted my decision"
"Ah so angry little Ja'far" I chuckled.
"Yes, angry little Ja'far" He laughed back "how were you as a child? You seem as though as a child you always tried to learn how to fight with your brothers instead of learning princess duties"
I laughed softly "you're right about that. Whenever I would be finished with my princess lessons, I would watch my younger brothers learn how to fight, I loved watching them since i hated the princess lessons all too much. One day when they were finished I picked up a wooden sword and started attacking one of the targets with full force, and i had done it so much I broke the wooden sword. My father had been impressed and that's when I started my sword fighting lessons. My younger sister was baffled by me doing this, she loved her princess lessons and dreamed of finding her true love"
"well it's good that you did. You don't seem to be the frilly princess type to me" ja'far stated.
"oh yeah? Then what do I look like?" I asked as we walked up the main steps towards the main doors.
"Like a warrior, a warrior with a brave and kind heart" I turned my head towards Ja'far who was smiling softly at me.
-sinbad p.o.v.-
I watched from my window above as they walked closely, ja'far smiling at (f/n), looks like my plan worked well after all.
-back at the karashee palace-
"Ah, so she's learned the first step of djin equip" ka stated.
"Yup, and she's rather earnest about not wantin to return to yah pal" Judar replied.
"Any other news?" Ka asked.
"Princess Kougyoku had been spotted with her adviser heading on a ship, I interegated the merchant nearby and he heard that she was heading towards syndria"
ka rubbed his chin in thought "Interesting, I wonder what the Princess of the Kou empire is up to. I want you to follow them, and this time I want you to bring her back to me, no ands ifs or buts about it. Just bring her alive. You're a magi, you shouldn't be so intimidated by a few metal vessel users, and if you must, bring kar with you. We've been training him to learn how to use a dark metal vessel and he already has shown he's capable of going to the final stage"
"awesome! I get to play with a new toy, and no need to worry pal. I'll have your gushing bride sent over to yah before you know it" Judar grinned deviously.
"And another thing, get rid of this.. 'Ja'far'" ka stated, glaring slightly "from what you'v told me, he seems to be another reason shes staying, which means if he's still in the picture than she wont leave"
"With pleasure"
