I am sitting on a cherry red sofa, watching the news, with my friend, Christian, and the twins that we are babysitting, Alice and Andrew Snow. You must think that this is pointless, that they won't understand and might as well get nightmares. Well, you're wrong. They are the most intelligent 3 year olds I have ever met. Plus, with everything that is going on, they should not be ignorant about this "incident." This "incident" is the end of the world. The sun has burned out. People are suffering from illnesses that we can no longer treat and have been reduced to skin and bones since the majority of the animals are dead and there are almost no more vegetables or fruits left. The ironic part is that since there is no more sun, the trees are dying by thousands everyday. So, hello global warming. The news show disasters and deaths that are so horrible, I have to clutch the blanket that is sprawled over our knees. Christian doesn't look better. He turns green when they show a baby left in an isolating room covered in green, yellow and black splotches. The twins on the other hand are watching the TV quietly, hunting for solutions. I am just this 18 year old girl that is an engineer and that is good in math with a freaky name and jet black hair with streaks coloured in electrical blue with light highlights. When I turn the TV off, I notice that I am shaking so hard, I almost fall down when I get up from the sofa and I have to sit right back down. Christian wraps his arms around me- a friendly gesture ( I can feel you grinning and getting the wrong idea)- and reassures me but he is as white as a blank sheet of paper.
Tonight, I have a vision of a ship. It is white, rectangular. Can you picture the ship Luke rides in Star Wars 4, at the end? Well, imagine a ship like that except a 100 000 000 times bigger and whiter. A huge ship that could save humanity. Then, I become an oracle. I see everyone dying. When I wake up, I am sweating but I know how to save humans and the remaining animals.
