Treat You Better (Illuminate Series Part 4)

"I won't lie to you, I know he's just not right for you..."

Shawn's POV

I see the bruises on her arm. I know what he does to her. I tell her, every day, to leave him, leave the pain, but she won't listen. He knows what he's doing is wrong. She's not the only girl in his life. She knows it too. My heart break every time she pretends to be happy, when she's not. I see the pain in her eyes every time she smiles around him. The long sleeves covering her arms. She wears them, not because she wants to, but because she has to. He just laughs at the fact that he's hurting her. He loves how he makes her feel low and helpless. He takes pride in the bruises he makes on her arms. His fists are his prized possessions. He uses them on her all the time. I love her and I know I can treat her better. 

I walk down the same hall every day during school. The hall her locker is in. She's there every day, last period. After I pass her, I go into another hall. The one his locker is in. I see him locking lips with another girl. I don't know how he could fall for her when there's a beautiful girl that he's hurting. I can't take it. He made a huge mistake, hurting her like that. I collect enough courage to walk up to the guy who hurt her physically and mentally. I bring my fist up and it meets with his jaw. "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR HURTING THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD!" With that, I ran to her. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. She was outside, heading to her car. "Y/N," She turned around. "Hey Shawn," she mumbled. I kissed her. She was startled at first, but she kissed back with just as much passion. "Why?" She asked. "Because you and I both know what he does to you. I love you Y/N. I will treat you better than her ever would." She nodded, with tears in her eyes. "I know... I love you too Shawn. Thank you." I wiped away her tears and kissed her again, full of love and passion.
