In the midst of youth, it is not uncommon for one to observe earnest thinking. In fact, we are urged to be perspicacious of our mental and heartfelt capacities for answers to questions that natural phenomenon cannot solve.

At a certain phase in life, you may decide that you can interpret others; perhaps by the way they speak, or from a general atmosphere they repel. You may believe that you comprehend the very desires of your own heart, and the depth of circumstances around you. The universe, it is yours to manipulate.

But how foolish, arrogant and revolting does that sound. The moment you believe you are intelligent, is the moment you have gained the most stupidity.

Arrogance is a demon that expresses pride skillfully and beautifully. Leonardo Da Vinci suggests that painters embark a new piece with a wash of black before laying down colour, because nature around us is unseen until made visible by light. Pride can be so easily determined as confidence, but those who can see through your illusion will lose all utmost respect.

Being comfortable in your current state means never accepting change. Believing you are intelligent or profound is as conceited as Narcissus. In comparison to the greatness of God, humanity knows nothing. If you must look at the water, look at it until you die.
