"What do you want for dinner tonight?" DEX asked flopping down on the couch. As most Friday nights went, they'd order something to be delivered, neither were particularly fond of the culinary arts, nor were they skilled at it. Lucky Maika was always glad to lend the pair a helping hand.
Unlucky for DEX, Daina was feeling dangerously adventurous. "How about we just MAKE something? We could have fun!" She said brightly. "No. Absolutely not." The grey haired wolf boy responded, he knew from prior experience that it would be more trouble than it was worth. "See, that's your issue; you don't try things." She said staring at him with those chilling blue eyes. "Don't try? I've tried to cook before- so have you! Don't you remember the mess we had to clean up?!" He asked getting a grip on his common sense. "That was like...forever ago. I bet we've come a long way since then!" She Said. "Ok first of all; it two weeks ago. Second how would we come a long way if we didn't practice?" He asked squinting at her. "That's besides the point, hon. The point is what's the worst that could happen?" She asked in a comically naïve way. "Many, many things." DEX said, taking the realist position as he usually did. "Didn't hear that, let's get to work." She said dragging him to the kitchen.
"So, what do you wanna make?" DEX asked throwing an apron on. "How about...fried wolf?" Daina joked poking him in his midsection. "No." DEX said visibility unamused. "Ok ok, burgers?" She suggested in a more serious tone. "That's actually not a bad idea." He responded. "You do the patties, I'll chop up some onions and tomatoes!" She said knowing that he didn't like to touch meat with his bare hands.
Later
"I'm done! I'm calling Maika and HIO!" DEX said throwing the dark blue apron on the floor. His hands were covered in meat and it felt uncomfortably sticky between his fingers. "Let's do that, get the phone." Daina, who was now saturated in tomato juice and smelled like onions, said slamming the knife down on the counter.
