Chapter VII: Reality
My eyelids shot open, and I saw a bright light. "Am I dead?" I looked around, Gregory and Arlurd were nowhere to be seen. "GREGORY!?" I Screamed. "ARLURD!?" I squealed.
When nobody answered, I tried to get up. A pile of wires and cables lay over me. I yanked them off. A few pulled some hair from off my skin, but I managed to get them all off.
I rolled off a hospital bed, and couldn't stand up. I tried to feel the ground as to push myself up, but my arm was gone... And my leg had huge stitches in it.
Large piece of shrapnel impaled left shoulder, flakes of metal dug into right thigh, given stitches.
One man known as Gregory was boy friend, and died in front seat.
Another man called Arlurd, Terrance's best friend, was tossed around inside car, suffered brain injury, expected to die soon.
Terrance Almakoy was sitting in back seat with seat belt on. She has been in a coma for three months. Recovery has been steady.
I looked up from this tragedy, and started balling on the spot. I slammed it down on the ground. The sky looked like a crow outside, but the hospital lights were brighter than day.
This isn't real, it's another dream, it's another dream. Pretend it's a dream. A very descriptive dream. Just like all your other ones. This isn't real!
A woman came hurrying in. "She's okay!" As she spoke she started crying. "You're that voice I heard in the dreams..." My voice trailed off. "You heard me?" "Yes of course. I'm in a similar dream right now too."
The woman gave a confusing look and helped me back onto the hospital bed, then almost smiled but left. I fell asleep quickly. And I dreamt of a car crash.
I was in the back staring out the window laughing at the shapes of trees. Two guys were in front laughing harmoniously. The driver sped up which made me nervous.
"Can you slow down a little?" "No way this is fun!" The bigger said rudely. I was becoming anxious. "Hey Gregory I think you need to slow down a little. It's late and you don't know where you're going and-"
"LOOK OUT!!!" I screamed and pointed at an animal. Gregory swerved and he broke the railing. We were diving head first off the cliff. When we hit I couldn't tell.
My ears started ringing. My vision was blurry. Something had smashed my legs. "Help!" I struggled out. I couldn't see anything but black car parts. I was enclosed in a circle of the car.
"Terrance! I can't move! I need help!" I heard Arlurd say. "My legs are stuck. I can't breath that well," I cried back. From far away I heard fire trucks ambulances and police cars coming to aid.
"Just hang on a little longer I can hear help coming." I shouted. "AAAHHH!!!" Arlurd squealed. I heard someone yank the car parts off him. "Oooohh god! Oh no! Please, help!" Arlurd sounded very defenseless.
I sucked in an extremely deep breath and my eyelids shot open. I was siting straight up in my hospital bed. I felt tears rising up. I cried.
I had to do something...
I got up from my bed on shaky legs.
Down the hall, there was a room with an open door. "Arlurd..."
I wanted to run... My legs would carry me... I could fly...
I limped quickly, the tile hitting my bare feet with cold waves.
I caught myself on a chair just as I was about to fall.
Arlurd seemed to here a commotion.
"Terrance? Is that you?" I felt a pang. Pain entered my chest like a knife cuts into skin. Slowly but fiercely.
His voice was scratchy and scathed. He could barely talk. His voice strained.
I was determined to see him.
I stood up with such a strong force I nearly knocked myself over.
One step...
Two steps...
Three...
The door was inches from me.
"Arlurd. You okay?"
