49. Ganesh Pujan

"Well, I can't do anything there is too much traffic today", Aarav said as he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel.

"How far is the shop you were talking about?", Shreya asked.

"Still fifteen minutes far. Hope we find a beautiful murti of bappa ( idol of Ganesh ) there", Aarav said sighing.

"Don't worry we will definitely find one", Shreya said as she rested her hand on his hand.

Aarav smiled and nodded.

After half an hour, they reached the little shop. Manish had asked them to buy the idol from that shop as they made beautiful and eco-friendly idols. Aarav parked the car outside the shop and both of them stepped outside the car before heading towards the little shop. The owner showed them few idols but neither Shreya nor Aarav liked any idol.

Aarav was dreading the thought of what might happen if they didn't get the idol they liked. They had to reach home before 8pm. His thoughts were broken by Shreya's excited voice.

"Aarav! I found the idol!", Shreya said excitedly and Aarav walked towards her.

His eyes landed on the idol and instantly he fell in love with it. It was simple and beautiful indeed!

"Uncle, ask one of workers to keep the Ganesh ji's idol in my car, we will be taking it home directly", Aarav said.

"Okay son. Kishan, take idol 104 till their car", the owner ordered.

"Aarav...?"

"Hmm"

"You take the idol on your lap and sit in the car. I will drive the car", Shreya said.

"No, you ain't driving the car. If you want you can sit with the idol on your lap", Aarav said.

"Okay..."

After Aarav paid for the idol, the couple headed towards their car. Aarav unlocked the passenger seat door and Shreya slid inside the car. Once she was comfortably seated, Aarav took the idol from the guy and placed it on her lap before locking the door.

He thanked the guy and went to the other side of the car. He opened his side of the door and slid inside the car. Fastening his seat belt, they drove in the direction of their apartment.

LIKE SHWETA HAD asked, Aarav had covered Ganesh ji's face by a red cloth in order to avoid mukh darshan ( face seeing ) before Ganesh Chaturthi. The couple managed to reach home by 7:30 pm despite of all the traffic.

Shreya rang the doorbell whilst Aarav stood with Ganesh ji's idol in his hands. Shweta opened the door and did the Aarti of the idol and Aarav. He then entered the apartment and placed the idol in the small pandal which was decorated for the idol.

Everyone joined their hands and lightly bowed in front of the idol before Rishabh shouted "Ganpati Bappa" and everyone shouted "Morya".

"Tomorrow we all have to wake up early in the morning", Shweta said sternly.

"Whyyy?", Rishabh whined.

"Tomorrow is Ganesh Chaturthi and we have bappa at our place, that's why", Shreya explained.

"Oh. Since Shreya is pregnant, we have decided that the first Aarti will be done by Aarav and Shreya", Neela said.

"Why?", Aarav asked.

"For the safety of the baby and Shreya", Aanchal explained.

"Oh. Okay", Aarav said.

"By the way, the pandal and the house is decorated beautifully", Forum commented.
