A/N: This chapter is mostly song lyrics, but it has a good ending, I promise!

One Kiss is attached above. Some of the lyrics are different  becuase there are different versions.

A few days later, Lily was at musical rehearsal.

They began to sing some songs (most people had listened to the the musical, so they knew the words) and tried to do a run through of Act One with just the singing.

They finished another successful rehearsal, and Christine stopped her on her way out.

"Hey Lily!" She said. "You're doing an amazing job. Keep it up."

"Thanks, Christine," Lily smiled. "Do you think I'll pass for a seventeen year-old?"

Christine nodded. "Definitely. You portray Ivy very well."

"Thank-you so much! Have a nice evening."

"You too!"

Lily smiled as she walked out of the building. She saw her mom's car in the car park.

She walked over and climbed into the passenger side.

"Hi, honey!" Heidi exclaimed. "How did you go?"

"It went very well!" Lily said. "We sang all of Act One. Next rehearsal, we're working on the choreography for Epiphany."

Heidi nodded like she knew what Lily was talking about. To Lily's knowledge, her mother hadn't listened to nor seen the bootleg for Bare.

"That's great, honey. Can you sing all the songs confidently?"

"There are a few songs I still have to work on," Lily admitted.

"You should practice. Hey, maybe you could invite Crystal over and she can help you! Didn't you say she has a beautiful voice?"

Lily nodded. "She's just doesn't have much confidence when performing in front of people."

"Right. So, what do you think? She can come over for dinner too, but your dad's working so I was just going to order pizza. She could even stay the night, too."

"Sounds good, mom. Thanks." Lily pulled her phone from her backpack and opened Crystal's contact.

Lily: Hey!

Lily: I need a favour.

Crystal: Hi gorgeous!

Crystal: What do you need?

Lily: Would you be able to come over tonight and help me practice the musical? There are a few things I need to work on.

Crystal: Of course! What time?

Lily: Mom said you can come over and stay the night if you wanted, so I'd say in about half an hour if you can?

Crystal: Yep! Sounds good.

Lily: Is pizza okay?

Crystal: Have you met me?

Lily: Pizza it is.

***

Lily and Crystal were standing in Lily's room.

"So what songs do you need to work on?" Crystal asked.

"One Kiss and Touch My Soul."

Touch My Soul was part of Act Two, however Lily wanted to get a head start. There were two other songs, Promise and All Grown Up that could use some practice, but she wanted to focus on One Kiss and Touch My Soul for now.

"So... I'll be Jason in One Kiss. You'll obviously be Ivy," Crystal said. Lily nodded, clearing her throat.

"Let's make the later sooner," Lily sang. "A minute can crawl by when you have something you want real bad. I spent the whole party just waiting for us to be alone, but then you must've known. Or perhaps you haven't noticed how I stare. Are you scared?"

"Why should I be frightened?" Crystal asked.

"I don't know. But still, I can see it in your eyes. They say, 'I'm not surprised.'"

"At what?"

"That I want to kiss you. I've wanted to kiss you for so long."

Lily saw that Crystal's cheeks were red.

"You're wasted, and this is wrong," Crystal sang.

"But why?"

"It could wreck our friendship."

"I don't know, I think you're intrigued."

"And why is that?"

"I don't think you have to ask. Do I see some life stirring in your jeans? How obscene."

"So how about that French kiss..." Crystal cleared her throat in character. "French test?"

"'Voules vous couche'... oh, what's the rest?"

"'Avec moi', I think it goes."

"It could." Lily smiled. "It's been quite a birthday."

"Did you get anything good?"

"You do know I'm misunderstood."

"Did you make a birthday wish?"

"Oh, yes. Sit tight and I'll whisper it in your ear." Lily and Crystal sat on the bed and Lily leaned towards her friend's ear as if she were whispering. She waited a few seconds before pulling away.

"I don't think that's legal here," Crystal laughed.

"Do you want to kiss me?"

"I want to kiss you..."

"Don't you want me just like I want you? Please grant the birthday girl her wish."

"Okay," Crystal sang. "One kiss..."

She saw Crystal hesitate for a second before leaning in to kiss Lily.

She really wasn't expecting Crystal to kiss her, but it felt amazing. She felt butterflies in her stomach as she kissed back.

They pulled away, then kissed again.

Lily was sure they were out of character at that point.
