The Day Before I Died

I was just a 16 year old at the time. Clueless. Pressured. Unloved. Lost everyone I was close to.
25 March 2017: my mother's aunt's funeral. Obviously people will think funerals are sombre, frightening moments ... For me this was one of the worst moments of my life. That night, I had to witness my family, more especially, my mother breaking down. I felt like I was the one who had to be strong. Not only was the funeral hurting me from deep inside but the fact that my so-called girlfriend wanted to break up. In other words, the person I was meant to cry on her shoulder was leaving me at the time I needed her most. Now that broke my heart. A week before she told me she needed a break and from there I just lost a bit of hope. When I finally asked her, a week later, if she still needed a break she replied no, she is done with the relationship. All that when through my mind was "I can't believe she is deciding to leave me just because she wants to satisfy her mother's wishes? After all we discussed? After all the nonsense we went through, the memories? 1 year 4 months was all for nothing? She was my first true love, changed me for the better so she can leave me?"
I remained speechless for the rest of the night, not knowing what to do with myself.
