Going Out

I attached the ankle strap to my leg and set my board down on the water. The tiny minnows that lived near the shore had scampered away when it hit the water. I got on my board and pushed myself away from the shore and started paddling. The cold breeze felt good on my face. It went through my hair and little wisps of it clung to my lips. I had learned to grow used to this feeling, when I was younger I would stop every time the slightest strand of hair got stuck to my face
