In today's world reputation is everything! Everything you do, say and even think is being watched, criticised and judged. People are like hawks eyeing your every action like prey and swooping at every opportunity to judge you and create an image of you. Not only do these hawk like people judge you and create an image of you but they also label you. They label you like they'd class an animal and place your profile in a draw titled with your class. Everything everywhere is watched and judged without any further detail.
High school is the label and reputation meeting area, this is the place where all these hawks like people gather and discuss what label to give you, who you are and who you will become. These hawk like people observe your strengths, qualities, and differences and compare them to others. This is their way of creating the next couple of the year or deciding on another person's future. People often overlook these people not digging into the reputation, stereotype and label they are giving. These hawks are a new breed, with a new diet and a new lifestyle, these hawks are already at the top of the food chain and have been on this diet for quite a while.
Hannah was your ordinary high achieving student, she received perfect marks in all her subjects and was the teacher sweetheart. The moment Hannah strutted through the blinding yellow doors of her high school, her fellow classmates examined her. They looked at the finest details from hair, personality, friends, social media, even clothing, they examined everything. As a group of the hawk-like people examined Hannah they began to whisper phrases such as "apparently she's smart" and "she hangs out with the nerds." As these phrases were thrown around the group they began to get closer to their prey using complete skill and strategy. They walked as casually as possible and began to talk about a genuine topic and as these stealthy hawks casually circled around Hannah they observed every detail, grasped every word they heard and pointed out the little things.
No-one was aware or knew what these girls thought... all they knew was that their popularity and reputation was managed and organized by these girls. Charlotte, one of the older students looked at these girls and observed them but not as the girls observed Hannah. Charlotte observed the group like she was observing an organism through a microscope, she observed what they were doing out of curiosity.
There are two types of observers, the hawk-like observers such as Hannah's classmates and the genuinely curious observers like Charlotte. It doesn't matter who you are, what you are or where you came from these observers are always watching, always listening and always observing. These people are always there creating and generating a label, class, reputation and image of you and who you are, you might not even notice!
