Chapter 1

I look to the right, the bed is empty. Emotionless I blink and wake up turning to the edge of the bed. I sit up slowly feeling the aches from the night and stretching until most of my limbs crack. I keep my neck and shoulders slumped down as I shuffle to the bathroom. The dim light shines on me as I stretch my shoulders back. My head falls back to the ceiling and I let out a groan as I stretch again. As my head falls back to the mirror, I see dried red spots on my body and face.

Closer to the mirror, I check my face, flush from the morning. I start brushing my teeth, and spit out foamy red saliva. I open the curtain to the shower and he is still there, tied up and naked in the corner. I untie the rope from the spicket, which wakes him. His tired voice asks "why are you doing this?" I forcefully drag him out of the bathtub, landing with a thump, he let's out a small moan. After swallowing glass, his throat to dry to scream.

I take him to my room and shove him under the bed and tie his four limbs to the headboard and footboard. "These will do" I say stuffing crusty socks in his mouth and duct taping it shut. The shower is running and steaming now. I think about my checklist as I slowly wash off his blood. My morning wood raging as the blood pools at my feet. "Cut the achilles, swallow glass, cut tendons and cauterize shut, slice esophagus insert straw and wrap in gauze, stuff and duct tape mouth."

Chapter 2

I'm on an island with a beautiful ocean in front of me. The seagulls sing and I bath happily in the sun, as the waters crash at my feet. I am happy, I am warm... I am alone. My smile fades as I start to think about it. Why enjoy something like this if you can't share it with someone? What's the point? A dark cloud takes my sun away. The ocean becomes violent as the wind picks up. The sand burns my skin as it's being thrown at speeds I couldn't compute.

I sit up a tear streaming down my face. I look intently at the storm coming. I will let it take me, since I have no reason to live. I have no love, nothing to share my happiness, nothing to hold. Alone. As I stare at the storm, I see her. She is beautiful sitting in the middle of a whirlpool. "There she is, my love, I will have you." I walk toward my impending doom, knowing fully that I am going to die. It doesn't matter now. She holds me, she loves me... and I will share it with the clouds forever.

Chapter 3

The day is cold and I have no money for cigs. Walking to the car, I flip my hood over my ears and light my third to last cigarette. "Fuck off" i say driving passed a gas station. I drone to work, which I immediately go to the cash box and grab two dollars, which will get me a box of cigars. The day passes slowly at work, which I sit and listen to the radio staring at the moving indents in the wall. My head slowly sways back and forth as I visualize the fun I will have when I get home.

The drive home was nice. Early afternoon the dew still shining in the bright sun. Grass and trees glowing green and the lines in the road illuminating my pupils. I turn up the radio blasting some mindless pop song, but the bass puts me into a trance, getting me home in no time. Not ready to go inside yet, I light another cigarette. "Just a couple months ago." I say remembering a fading love. I take a long drag and hold as flashes of memory pass behind my eyes like a reel. As a tear rolls down my face I exhale and put out the burned butt. "I'm ready." I say smirking.

As I walk in the door I say loudly "Honey I'm home!" No one answers as I turn the kitchen light on. I grab two pieces of bread and some lunch meat making a sandwich. I grab a filet knife and walk to the bedroom chewing loudly. "Why can't we be friends, why can we be friends" I sing in a monotone voice. I drag the knife on the wall making a scratching sound and tap the door open. The bed was moved closer to the wall with a window. "Oh, no one wants to play with me?" I say kneeling slowly to look under the bed.
