Chapter 18

Jugheads P.O.V
The next morning I woke up, got dressed, and as I was eating I got a text from (Y/N)
Meet me at Sweetwater river? I smiled then replied
Of course see you in a bit
I finished breakfast then left, Archie was working at Fred's construction site so I won't see them until later today.

When I arrived at the river (Y/N) was there sitting with her knees up and a sketchbook on them. She wasn't drawing right now, she was looking out at the river the wind was blowing her hair she reached back and pushed it behind her ears so she could see but in my mind she never looked more beautiful with the wind in her hair. I walked up to her
"The river spark any inspection?" I asked she looked at me and smiled

"More then you would have thinked"
"Can I look?" I asked sometimes she just wants her drawings private only letting a select few see them, I'm the same way with my writing so I understand.
"Of course" I sat down next to her and looked at her sketchbook. It was amazing as usual she drew the river from where's she sitting and all the trees on both sides of the water. While I was looking (Y/N) said

"I got mad at Archie last night" I looked up from her book
"I know he told me he doesn't understand why" she sighed
"Of course he doesn't, Jughead I love Archie but sometimes that boy can be as clueless as a rock"
"You don't have to convince me" I responded
"I told him I was upset about him bailing on you over the summer I know you said your over it but I'm not and then his excuse was he had this huge thing that he couldn't tell me" don't talk to me about it I'm begging
"He told me you knew about it" damn it

"Yeah it's not something I'd like to talk about it was stupid Archie was stupid, it's all over now" I looked at her hopping to satisfy her curiosity
"Ok" she nodded
"Ok?" I asked

"Yeah if it's in the past why are we discussing it I mean there's things about me that I've done in the past that I don't want to talk about"
"Your talking about Chucks cousin are you" her eyes shut
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have..."
"No it's ok you have every right to ask, yes I was talking about him we meet probably a week after I moved he was smart, nice, funny, good looking, so I took a shot. We got closer and we started dating over the summer, he was my first boyfriend my first kiss my first everything?"
"Your first love?" I asked
"No god no" she replied
"So what happened?"

"He's what happened, it was a couple months into the summer we had planned to met up at this dinner in town. It's nowhere near as good as Pops but it reminded me of home I would go there when I needed to escape, we would usually met up there for date nights sometimes go to the movies after or just hang there anyway, I was going there one day with a couple of friends and there he was sitting in a booth making out with another girl.

I was shocked at first one of my friends had to shake me to make me snap out of it. That's when I just felt pure anger I took a picture of them then went outside and I..." she stopped and started to laugh
"What? What did you do?"
"I keyed his car, I didn't even realize I did it until it was over, the adrenaline and rage must have taken over me, I keyed it and when he came to talk about it I admitted I did it which caused a huge fight and obviously a disastrous break up."

"(Y/N) I'm.. I'm so sorry" I said in the most apologetic voice I could muster
"The worst part is: the girl he was with, was one of my friends that was meeting us there, I confronted her and she said it was all him but earlier when  I was talking to him he said straight up that he was seeing her for weeks"
"Wow"
"Yeah so that day I lost a boyfriend and a friend"

"Come here" I pulled her closer in so her head was rested on my neck
"After that I sort of changed, I partied a lot over the summer I know shocker, hooked up with some guys basically did stuff that I wouldn't normally do so when dad came to me and told me that we were moving back I made myself stop all that, I wanted to be myself again"

"Does this guy have a name? So if he ever comes here I'll know so I can beat him senseless for what he did" she chucked
"His name is Jake" it was silent for a moment

"Archie slept with the music teacher"
"What!" She pulled her head up
"That's why he bailed"
"He bailed on you to sleep with some cougar?" She got up
"Oh he's gonna get it"
"(Y/N) wait he can't know you know ok it's done she's gone"
"He still bailed on you he still picked a girl well women over you what about bros before hoes huh?" She asked her hands were bailed up I stood up and placed my hands on them
"Hey it's ok now ok she's gone he said he will make it up to me everything is fine" she nodded
"I'm still gonna yell at him"
"Ok just somewhere privately please"
"Ok" she unballed her fists then we sat back down, it was quite for a minute before she said
"Oh and your coming over for dinner tonight"
"What!"
