How I became Savannah Solo Part 8

Saturday March 12th

Hope woke me up at 7:45.

Hope: you need to put on something on and eat before we leave at 8:40.
Me: ugh

I went to my closet and put on jean shorts and a shirt.

Me: Hope!
Hope: yeah?
Me: can you button my shorts and then help me with my brace?
Hope: yes, I will

Hope buttoned my shorts for me and then I held my brace in position while Hope put the straps around me.

Hope: feel okay?
Me: yeah thanks
Hope: do you want your converse?
Me: uh sure

Hope put my shoe on for me and then we went out to eat breakfast with my dad.

Dad: so, who is all in this meeting?
Me: us, Barron, Ainsworth, Garvin's, school lawyers, our lawyers, and then the other school and personal lawyers
Dad: alright

We finished eating and loaded into the 4 Runner. My dad drove us to the lawyer firm and we found Garvin and Barron waiting.

Barron: Savannah, I heard you were at school yesterday but I didn't get the chance to see you
Me: yeah, I was
Barron: how is everything?
Me: good I got new casts this past Thursday and Dr. Sloan liked my progress.
Barron: good

We were interrupted by a lawyer calling us into the elevator. We went to the 18th floor and were led to a conference room. I sat in between Hope and Jayme. Once Byrd's principle arrived the meeting began. I had to tell my side of the story as did Barron.

Byrd's Lawyer: I don't think this was an intentional play to hurt Savannah Solo
Our Lawyer: Camilla Strober was late in the play with no ball and she has had previous yellow cards against Savannah
Byrd's Lawyer: Savannah you have had yellow cards before, have you not?
Dad: don't answer that
Our Lawyer: well we have a proposed settlement. Byrd High School will pay for all medical bills and Camilla Strober will have a 6-game suspension next season
Byrd's principal: 6 games is excessive
Coach Garvin: I think it will teach her and show that other players that, that behavior is not acceptable
Byrd's Lawyer:  I think those terms are agreeable but the school will meet and we will notify you of our conclusions

The meeting ended at 12 and Hope, my dad, me, and the Garvin's stopped in the lobby.

Jayme: do you want to go to lunch
Dad: if Savannah wants to?
Me: yeah sure
Coach: alright Brad will be meeting us with the boys
Me: alright

The 5 of us went to Tripp's and got a table for 8. Brad and the boys came in and Rand immediately came to me.

Rand: Vanna!
Me: hey bud
Rand: I've missed you
Me: I've missed you too

The waiter came by and gave us menus. I got a Caesar salad and then catfish for my main meal.

Rand: Vanna will you color with me?
Me: I'll try

I grabbed the blue and tried to color one of the flowers.

Rand: you're supposted to color in lines Vanna

The table laughed a little and I gave them a look and they went back to their conversation. Rand and I colored until our food came. We all ate and talked. By the time we finished it was almost 2:30. Brad came home with us and we watched the Vampire Diaries until dinner at 8. The 4 of us ate and then Brad had to go. I sat back down to watch but Hope took the remote and paused it.

Hope: you can watch two more episodes and then you're showering
Me: alright can you hit play?

Hope hit play and then went to read her book. Once the second episode ended I went back to find Hope. Hope helped me into the shower and washed my hair. Hope helped me out and then we went into my closet.

Hope: what do you want to wear?
Me: Nike Pros and a sports bra
Hope: alright

Hope helped me get dressed and then I checked emails. I posted a couple ads and a couple pictures from the past week. I took my medication and then I fell asleep.
