Dreaming- Poem

My mind would wander carelessly

Wherever it may please

And made my world flawlessly

Letting my troubles rest at ease

Sparkling waters at sunset

An evening perched on a lounge chair

Love I was to get

As a special someone braided my hair

Lost I was in the scene

Which I would let carry on

Great things I'd seen

No longer was I a pawn

White carpets spread

Table perfectly straightened

A neatly prepared bed

Nothing here was tainted

A pup danced around my feet

As I stared around in awe

The magnificent home I'd meet

You'd think it was against the law

Canvases of trees and flowers

Appealed to my watching eyes

Everything towered

Above my expectations; I was surprised

Suddenly, quick as a flash

Everything shattered

I felt like I'd received a lash

Leaving me broken and tattered

Glancing around

I hear the lonely wail

Of my life creating sound

So painful and so frail

I sigh

Taking in the living

Having to see goodbye

To the world I must have been dreaming
