The moment he's back,
he hopes he can just relax.
He knows that's she's waiting,
praying he will stay;
stay with her.
She knows him,
and worries that he'll just leave again.
She takes his hand and pleads,
pleads to him, 'One more day.'
He witnesses her first tears
he's ever seen in all these years.
Falling gracefully down her face,
reassuring her that it's okay.
He squeezes her hand and
strokes her face,
calmly whispering his promise
to stay awake,
for one more night.
But when morning comes,
He's already taken his flight.
She runs way
to a lonely place
where she can cry.
Falling to the ground,
she contemplates on
taking her own life.
Clutching to desperation,
she takes herself back to last night,
holding on to the memory
of his eyes.
For one last time,
she lets the wind carry her soft whisper of,
'Goodbye.'
