Part 1: The Encounter!

Naira was standing in front of a huge photo frame and staring at the little boy and girl in it. When she turned to walk ahead, a man came from the opposite direction and they bumped right into each other. He immediately bent down to pick up his phone, the thing that caused the collision in the first place, as he was busy with it.

He muttered something under his breath and got up to meet the person, who he thought to be a blind soul. The moment he looked up and they came face to face, both yelled in unison "Tum?!" They were shocked would be an understatement. Before they could recover from the sudden surprise and fire questions at each other, Naksh interrupted "Do you guys know each other?"

The man in front of Naksh gave him an odd look. When realization struck Naksh, he introduced himself "I am sorry! How can I forget that we had never met before?! Hi! I am Naksh Singhania. Your soon to be brother-in-law."

With that he forwarded his hand for a handshake. The man gave him a positive nod and accepted his hand readily. Naksh continued the conversation with a smile "And Kartik! This is my sister, Naira Singhania" The moment Naksh spoke the last word; he gave her a sharp look.

Kartik averted his gaze only when Naksh said, "She was in Canada. Baas teen char din pehle hi wapas aayi hai India. Aur Kartik, you also came back about a week ago right?" Kartik just nodded his head in a yes. Now turning towards Naira, Naksh filled her in as well "Ye Kartik Goenka hai. Keerti, I mean tumhari hone wali Bhabhi ki Bare Bhai."

He paused before continuing, "Actually I never met him, but Kartik aur Keerti ki picture dekhi hai meine Uncle (Manish) ki cabin mein. Iss liye pehchan liya. Aur jo tasveer tum dekh rahi thi na, wo bhi Kartik aur Keerti ki hai. Their childhood picture."

Suddenly Naksh realized he was doing all the talking and Kartik was keenly looking at his sister. On the other hand, she was trying her best to avoid his intense gaze on her. His eyes traveled down from her empty forehead to her neck, which was covered by her long hair. It appeared he was looking for something, but couldn't seem to find it as she was wearing a boat neck blouse.

His trance was broken when Naksh coughed and threw his earlier question at them again "You didn't tell me? Kya aap dono mil chuke hai pehle?" This time Naira spoke first "Bhai wo..." Before she could make out something in her head, Dadi and other family members came to her rescue.

Soon Naksh's question was forgotten and they became busy in introduction session again. In the meantime, the guests also started to arrive. Since it was a Roka ceremony, Goenkas only invited some close friends. Then in the presence of everyone, all the rituals were over soon.

Now both the families were celebrating and enjoying along with the guests, as it was a start of a new relationship between two individuals and their houses. However there were two people, who were neither happy nor sad. Every now and then, they kept exchanging glances. Even when she would look away, she could feel his continuous gaze on her.

Shortly after that Naira was feeling really uneasy and nauseous. She just wanted to go home and take rest. Unfortunately that wasn't possible right away.

When she noticed Kartik became busy with Naksh, she excused herself and went to the nearby bathroom. As she was coming back, she overheard Dadi's conversation with Manish.

Dadi was telling him about someone's alliance "Hum keh rehe hai na Manish, yehi time hai Kittu ka rishta tey karne ki" Manish sounded hesitant "Ma aise kaise? Kartik abhi toh wapas aya hai! How can we fix his marriage so soon?"

"Nehi beta! Kittu hamesha ke liye wapas aya hai humare paas uss ladki ko chodke. Aab phirse wo apna maan badle aur uss ladki ke pass chala jaye, usse pehle humein uski shaadi kardeni chahiye. Humne baat kaarli unse. Unko koi problem nehi hai. Aur kiska past nehi hota, unki beti ka bhi toh hai. Wo achhe khandan wale hai. Yehi sehi hoga humare Kittu ke liye." saying she tried to assure Manish.

Manish asked with concern "Aur Kartik? Maa kya wo maan jayega iss saab ke liye, wo bhi itni jaldi?" Dadi smiled and told him with confidence "Tum uski chinta maat karo. Hum samjhayenge usse. Waise bhi ussne khud kaha hai, wo dono alag ho chuke hai. Humara Kittu ek baar galti kar chuka hai. Dobara nehi dohrayega. Wo humari baat samjhega bhi aur manega bhi. Baas tum Keerti ke saath Kittu ka bhi shaadi ki taiyaari karo."

Manish agreed this time "Theek hai Maa. Shayed aap sahi keh rahi hai. Don't worry! Mein saab kuch manage kaar lunga. Aur dua karta hoon ke mere Bete ke zindagi mein phirse khushiyaan laut aaye."
