I woke up on the couch to the sound of bottles falling. I stood up and turned around. I could see Kayla looking through white bottles away. I walked over to her.
"Can you help me find the migraine pills?" she asked looking like a mess.
"You look like a sleep deprived raccoon," I said, noticing the black makeup around her eyes. She had her lipstick on, but all over and her makeup looked funny. Her cat eyes went around her head and her checks were blue. She noticed me looking.
"This is what happens when you do your makeup while your drunk," she said embarrassed.
"You look like a box of crayons threw up on you," I said about to laugh. She gave me an if you don't shut up, i'll murder you look. It was more menacing when she looked like a clown.
"My parents are coming over today, help me." I pulled her up and started putting the bottles away. She went back to the bathroom. I went back and saw her scrubbing her face. The sink was filled with color and her face was smeared. I heard a knock on the door.
"Coming!" I yelled. I shut the door and ran into the living room. I turned off the TV and opened the door.
"Hello, how are you?" I asked politely.
"Hay Bryan, how are you?" her mom asked.
"Good, you,"
"Same," I could see her father behind her staring. I knew what was coming.
"Why are you here. Did you sleep here and where is Kayla?" he asked.
"She's in the bathroom," I said nervously.
"What, taking a pregnancy test,"
My hands got sweaty, "No, sir."
"Bill, it's none of your concern," her mom said. He gave me a look, then sat down. We sat there for a while and waited for Kayla. I looked at the bathroom door and Kayla's dad glared at me. I gulped, knowing he was bigger than me. The bathroom door opened and Kayla walked out.
"You look really nice," her mom said.
"Thank you,"
"So..., should we get going?" I asked.
"Sure," We all got in Kayla's Honda, which was matte grey. Kayla's dad sat behind me. While we were driving a held Kayla's hand. Her dad kicked my seat and her mom slapped his arm. I could hear them whispering. I let go of her hand and Kayla stared out the window. I turned on some music and Kayla's dad complained. He pulled out a tape and handed it to me.
"Do you always carry this around? And besides, this car only takes CDs ," I said. Her dad took the tape back harshly. I pulled into olive Garden. We all got out and I could hear Bill moan.
"All this is is fake italian food," he said.
"Stop complaining," her mother said embarrassed. We walked in and sat at a booth. The waiter came by and I couldn't believe who it was.
"Hay Bryan," our waiter said in a squeaky voice.
I put my hand up against my head.
"Hay bitch," Kayla said.
"What you say, I couldn't hear you over your makeup?"
"Veronica? How are you, still creeping on all of your exes?" Kayla asked. I laughed to myself. I could feel Veronica run her finger down my arm. I pinched her.
"Can we have a new waiter please?" I said looking away.
"You know you still love me, you just haven't realized yet," she said creepily. Kayla gave her a sinister glare. She glared back and walked away. Our new waiter came out. When we were done eating we went back to Kayla's apartment.
"See you guys later," Kayla's mom said. Her parents left and we started watching tv.
"It's still eight thirty," I said, "What do you want to do?" Kayla looked at me and we started kissing. There was a knock on the door and Kayla quickly retreated.
"I got it," I said getting up. I opened the door and saw a depressed Luke.
"Can it wait," I said, trying to act tired.
"Maddy broke up with me," he said quietly.
"Why?" Kayla asked walking over to me. She hugged my side. Luke came in and plopped himself on the couch.
"It's a long story," he said.
~Twenty Minutes~
"She also smashed my car door. The window is cracked and the door is dented," Luke said.
"Well, your so young. Don't worry, you will have more opportunities to date," Kayla said.
"I know but I love her so much. Maybe I just need some time," Luke said.
"Hay, I'm gonna go. Love you," I said giving Kayla a hug. I could tell she was upset I had to go. I left and went over to my apartment.
