"Zara and Solana get in the car before ya'll late to school."My father yelled from the front door. I rolled my eyes and popped some lipgloss on my lips, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door.
When I stepped outside I saw my father and little sister in the car waiting for me.I hopped in the car and put my seatbelt on.
Five minutes into the car ride my father broke the silence. "Zara you and Solana have to do better with getting up on time and getting ready for school."My father taunted, he said this almost every morning."Zara, you're the oldest, so I expect more from you. He acted as if we were years apart, two years wasn't anything.
I looked at him and turned my lip up. Ever since I was young, I've felt like my father has pushed me to grow up faster than most people my age. Solana and I didn't grow up with a mother so, everything that I had to learn about being a female, I was expected to teach Solana because she was my younger sister. I was ok with that to a certain extent because I just wanted to fill like a normal teenager and not have so much pressure be on me.
"Lana is old enough to make her own decisions and decide what's right and what's wrong," I responded, usually I would just agree when he said stuff like that but today I wasn't in the mood.
"I said what I said Z, I'm going to start working more hours at the shop and I need you to pull your weight around here and that's including helping me with Lana."He explained. I don't know why he treated Solana like a baby, she was fifteen years old and is able to take care of her damn self.
"Alright," I responded, we were down the street from the school and I just didn't feel like arguing with him about dumb shit. Solana didn't say anything the whole ride because she had her headphones on blast in the backseat.

"I don't why ya pops thinks that you can control or try to teach Lana little hot ass anything."My best friend, Chanel explained. I told her what happened this morning with my dad.
"For real, I didn't tell her or teach her to go fucking with these grown ass niggas in here but she does it anyway,"I responded. Chanel shook her head and gave me a 'that's a shame look'.
Chanel was beautiful and I wasn't just saying that because she was my best friend. She always kept thick curly weave in her head, chocolate brown skin, a round button nose, and beautiful slanted eyes. You would think that she had a boyfriend or something like that but Chanel was mean as hell, she always explained to me how much she doesn't trust these niggas.
"First of all, don't ya pops own the shop? Why he gotta work extra hours at his own car repair shop?"Chanel asked.
"Girl I don't know but, what I do know is I'm sick of playing mommy," I responded while opening the locker that both Chanel and I shared.
"I feel you, sis."She simply replied.
I glanced over to see our friend Monty walking towards us.
"Wassup ya'll ?"Monty greeted. You could tell he was high because of how low his eyes were.
"Hey Monty."I greeted ignoring the fact that I knew he was high.
"Wassup is you not smoking all that weed."Chanel greeted rudely. I think that Chanel had a thing for Monty but never wants to admit that she does.
