Camp Evergreen

Chapter 1: Summer Camp

Emma's POV
Today is the day I leave for Camp Evergreen, my favourite place to go in the summer. I am a camp counselor there for the two months of summer vacation. For the children, it is a one-week sleepover camp, but me and the other counselors sleep in our own cabins for two months.

This year, I do not have a co-counselor or cabin-mate because she left on maternity leave. Ashley and I worked together for about 3 years until last year when she had her baby Alexandra. Now she runs a daycare where she lives, so she still gets to take care of children. I miss her a lot, she was really great with each different group of kids we looked after each summer and she is a really great friend. Since she is gone, I will be getting a new co-counselor as well as a new cabin-mate. I guess I will meet this new counselor tonight at our annual staff meeting.

At the moment, I am just packing my two medium-size suitcases full of different shirts, shorts, underwear, and socks that I may need for the two months I am away.

After I am finished packing my bags, I pack everything I will need into my Yellow Volkswagen Beetle. I pack my bags, pillows, blankets, sleeping bag, tent, toiletries, and other things I will need.

After about an hour of packing, I hop into my car and start the 3.5 hour drive to Camp Evergreen.

I am extremely excited to see all of my friends who are also camp counselors. There is Ruby, Mary Margret, David, Belle, Robin, Will, and my best friend Regina. We have all worked at Camp Evergreen for around 5 years. Regina first introduced all of us to this camp, and we all fell in love with it. There are 2 couples at the camp that everyone knows about. Regina and Robin have been dating for the past two years; Mary Margret and David have been dating for the past three years. Belle is already in a committed relationship with her husband, and we all suspect there is something going on between Ruby and Will. I am still single, even though all of my friends try to set me up on blind dates with different guys. I just haven't met the right guy yet.

Killian's POV
I start my new job at Camp Evergreen as a camp counselor tonight. Even though I am extremely excited, I'm also really nervous. I was told that I would have a co-counselor and a cabin-mate and that I would spend most of my summer with them. I'm scared that my new co-counselor won't like me.I'm not an extremely social guy and I don't fit in much, but hopefully my new co-workers will be welcoming.

I packed my Honda Civic earlier today, so at around 9:00am I hopped into my car and started the 4 hour drive to get to the camp. 

Once I finally made it to the camp ground at around 1:15pm, I stepped out of my vehicle and headed towards the main cabin where the meeting was being held. Since I was early, I was dreading walking into the room where the meeting was. I did not want to be the only person there. I sighed in relief when I walked up to the door and heard a variety of voices coming from behind it. With a deep breath in, I built up my strength, opened the door, and walked towards my new co-workers.

Emma's POV
I got to the camp ground around 1:00pm, so once I parked I stepped out of my car and headed towards the main cabin where our meeting was.

When I walked into the cabin, I was bombarded with hugs from Regina and Mary Margret.

"Hey girl! We missed you!" Regina said with excitement.

"Hey! I missed you guys too!" I said while giving Regina and Mary Margret a hug.

After our greeting, I looked over to the couches and saw Robin, Ruby, Will, David, and Belle. Regina, Mary Margret, and I our way to the couches. We all sat down and began talking with everyone about what we had all done over the past year. A few minutes later, a stranger emerged through the door.

I was speechless. He had ocean blue eyes, dark hair that looked extremely soft, and the cutest smile. "Emma what are you thinking!" I asked myself. "He's just a normal guy!"

"Everyone, I would like you to meet Killian Jones. He will be joining our staff as a new counselor." Our chief of staff informed us. "Killian this is Emma, she will be your co-counselor as well as your cabin-mate." The chief told me as he and the handsome man walked over to the couches.

"Oh my gosh, this is my new co-counselor! How will I survive? He's so attractive..." I though to myself as I stood up, smiled, and shook his hand.

"Hello love, my name is Killian Jones. It is lovely to meet you." He told me as he brushed his lips over the palm of my hand.

My knees almost buckled. "His British accent is so adorable, and his lips are so soft..." I thought to myself.

"Hi...I'm Emma Swan. Its great to meet you too." I told him while still in shock from his lips touching my skin.

Killian's POV 
Once I walked into the room, all heads turned to look at me. It was really nerve-racking. The chief of staff walked over to me, introduced himself, shook my hand, and then introduced me to everyone. As he introduced me, I scanned the crowd in front of me until my eyes fell upon a beautiful woman with bright green eyes and golden hair. Before I knew it, the chief of staff was introducing me to the same woman I was gazing at.

She smiled at me and shook my hand politely. I quickly composed myself and said; "Hello love, my name is Killian Jones. It is lovely to meet you." Once I finished speaking, I brought her hand up to my lips and gave her soft skin a light kiss.

I could tell she was in shock from my actions and my heart swelled. She is so kind and so beautiful. "I have no idea how I will survive this summer." I though to myself.

When she introduced herself to me, her angelic voice was so gentle and soft. It made my heart swell even more.

Emma's POV
Once we both introduced ourselves, I sat back down where I was sitting before and he walked over to a chair that was stationed close to the couch I was sitting on.

As I sat down, Regina looked over at me and gave me a sinful smirk. I jokingly smacked her arm and turned my attention back to our chief of staff.

For the rest of the meeting, Killian and I kept glancing over at each other. 

"This is going to be a long summer...I am definitely in trouble." I thought to myself as I continued to glance over at the handsome man to my left.
