I'll Wait (Laurence X Reader)

1. Ashes

I dare not look behind me, where my former village continues to burn to the ground. And it's all Zane's fault. In fact, everything is Zane's fault. And to think, he's actually my brother. Whatever did I do to deserve this? Deep in thought, I kept running, paying no attention what so ever to what I was doing. Which is exactly why I fell, being the clutz I am. I let out a scream of pain as my ankle bent ways it was NOT supposed to bend.

           I knew that there was only a slight chance that there would be someone nearby to help me, especially considering my village was just burned to the ground by my own brother. So instead, I decided to just toughen up and keep walking. It was a slow process, but I managed to make it farther than I thought I would. Before I could walk any farther, I saw two figures walking towards me. As they walked closer, I saw that both of them had swords. I tried to run, but my ankle   stopped me from doing so, causing me to stumble to the ground. I let out a small whimper of pain

         The two figures began walking even faster, gaining curiosity of who I was. They eventually got close enough to where I could see that one had light brown hair and blue eyes, and the other had dark blue hair and blue eyes like the other guy, but way darker. "Who are you." The blue haired one said. He didn't seem to happy to see me. I backed up a little bit, but that just led to him moving even closer. "I'll say it ONE MORE TIME! Who are you." He said, anger filling his voice.

       "Okay! Im Y/N Ro'meave! My village was just burnt to the ground by Zane and I was running away and twisted my ankle." He sighed in relief. "Ok. In that case, I'm Dante, this is Laurence a-" Laurence cut him off. "Excuse me. Did you say.... Ro'meave?" I nodded my head. He immediately picked me up bridal style and whispered something to Dante, but it was too quiet for me to hear.

          He kept walking and didn't say a word to me. After what felt like centuries, I gathered up all my courage and asked "Where are we going?" He didn't answer, just looked at me. "Uhh, I don't think you heard me. Where are we go-" he cut me off. "I heard you." "Then why won't you tell me?" I asked. He sighed. "We're going to Phoenix Drop."
