"Can I stay at your place?I already told Marley that I'm sleeping over for some homework,"I told him.
"Can't.Ned's coming over,"He was lying I could tell.
"Why are you pushing me away?"
"I'm not!Ned is coming over!"he insisted.
"That wasn't a problem before.And even so,you're still lying!"I shot back.
"Am not!"
"Stop with the shit,Parker.Ned told me he's sleeping by his granparents this morning."
That shut him up.He looked away,guilty and defeated.
"This has been going on for weeks now,Peter.Tell me,why are you pushing me away?"I demanded.
"Because,as long as you're with me,you're just gonna be a target over and over by the people who wants me dead.And you're giving them a good chance at succeeding.What if I didn't get there in time?What if I faltered and you died?What will I do then,huh?"
"You won't.I trust you,"I say.
He just scoffs at me,along with some tears spilling from his eyes,"Aren't you getting tired of this?About knowing that today might be your last?Me being Spiderman has been hurting you,you know that.And there's no point telling you that I don't love you."
I just stared at him,nearly at the verge of crying,"Because I know that you don't mean it.And even if you did,I won't go."
"Why?"he said it as if he was begging,"You know you'll have a better life without me."
"No,I won't."
"You don't know that."
"I do know it because I know you won't be there!"I tell him,"Sure,everything hurts when I'm with you.I might die because of you.But at least I know that what I feel for you is true,because I hurt all over but I don't let it take over.No matter what,my heart keeps shouting that I should stay with you.And even though you're Spiderman,or who the fucking superhero you are,that'll be the one thing you can't save me from.You're all I got,Pete.I love you.And I'm always gonna hold on to you.All I ask is one thing,at the very least...won't you hold on to me too?"
He stared at me for quite a while.His expression looked so passionate and at the same time,he looked like he was gonna burst out into more tears.
Suddenly,he kissed me as he cupped my face.Our lips moulded perfectly with each other and I knew it took us deeper in love.
"I'm sorry if I make you twice exhausted with superhero work,"I chimed as soon as we broke off.
He shook his head that was still so close with mine.Peter gave me a quick peck before he said,"I'll never get tired of rescuing you.But I hope you'll never get tired of living your life with me and all the danger that I come with.I just never expected someone would love me the way you do...and that's why I love you so much...to death."
He gave me yet another kiss before he chuckled,"C'mon now,we better start making up a good excuse about these bruises to Aunt Mae or she'll overreact again."
